Me! In fighting game Rivals of Aether!! With a change of clothes!!!

I’m back and even better than ever! In a new fit, and new moveset, The True Swagapino returns!!!

That's right, I put myself in the game, this ain't no furry self insert oc or nothin!
After 3 years of being in Rivals of Aether, I’m redone with a whole new outfit on and a slightly altered moveset!

Moveset Breakdown:

I’m still here to play no games with yall, still playing like a simple rushdown character. I still only have 1 jump, but my moveset has changed a little bit.

Some lore for yall: Lopey, the dog, was never my dog. She was my sister’s! But I have my own pet again now, my little cat named Ina! Now he joins the fight with me replacing Lopey.

Jab - On the first two hits of jab, I can cancel into any tilt attack. You can go for a jab 1, 2, into up tilt to follow up for some basic combos into the air. Simple bnb’s and simple combo routes to mix yourself around with.

Ftilt - On hit, you can cancel this move into my new Forward Special. And also, its Yu Narukami’s 5B in P4AU lols.

Neutral Air - Taking after my idol, Yu Narukami, I copy his j2b from P4AU. This move is great for approaching and for neutral with very low landing lag for easy combos into itself or other things. However, in the air on hit, it can be cancelled into a jump, Side Special, or Up Special. As the move already sends up, this is great for following up for more moves at lower percents.

Neutral Special: Filipino Food - I hope you don't mind Filipino Food. Filipino Food now replaces my old command grab as Neutral Special! Nothin like a fridge full of the hottest and latest shoes. Especially when it comes flyin right in your face. If you even get this reference, you’re a God amongst the Filipino community.

Side Special: Ina Strike! - My new Side Special! Once again, I take after my idol, Yu Narukami, taking inspiration from Swift Strike in P4AU. Me and my cat, Ina, lunge ourselves towards the opponent, and on hit, you can cancel into Jab, any tilts, any specials, or jump! You can do the same in the air as well, so it opens up my combo game a lot! Go ahead, rush in, be as aggressive as you want, but just know if you whiff or get parried, especially in the air or near a ledge, that will suck a lot.

Down Special: The New Balance 574 Yurt Counter - Designed by Salehe Bembury, The New Balance 574 Yurt has a whistle on the back of the shoe. And yes, the whistle works. They’re probably one of my favorite shoes in my collection, and here, I use them as a counter! Instead of countering with my sword, i blow the whistle back at opponents. I still take damage when countering and still only do 8% back, the only real change is visually with this move, but the counter hitbox is also a bit smaller too now.

Up Special: Pickle’s Saving Grace - So like, one of my past dogs died a bit ago, but that don't mean she still ain't liftin me from the heavens. Big hitbox and i frames on start up? Shiiiiiiiiiii.

I originally started making my first version of me back in late 2019, early 2020, and finished it in 2021. First off, the outfit used was really 2019 high school of me, and I wanted to do a whole “sprite” replacement for a while since 2022. When i sat down to really start planning for it, I thought about the moveset, and while its not too substantially changed, I still wanted to change it all. Realistically, the only real change was replacing my command grab, but it still took a lot of work. I work full time, changed majors through college, and still have my own life outside of this all. If you haven’t realized, aside from my friends posing for the “sprites” and doing their voice acting, and once in a while i get moveset suggestions from them, I solely develop everyone, which is strenuous, i still plan to make more of my friends in rivals, but i really wanted to do this before moving foreword just bc I feel i would be satisfied. I appreciate my first version of Jordan somehow becoming a teensy bit popular, its really funny to me.
