USSF Shuttle Arcadia [Vanilla - No DLC Required]

Description
-----THIS BUILD REQUIRES "IN-GAME SCRIPTS" TURNED ON-----

This ship uses scripts to function. Make sure "Allow in-game scripts" is toggled on in your world advanced settings before pasting the ship in.

-----BASIC INTRODUCTION-----

This is the premier Shuttle craft of the USSF. Built to ferry astronauts and modules to the newly established Space Station Alpha in low earth orbit. Equipped with auxiliary boosters, the shuttle is more than capable of lifting heavy loads into orbit. These boosters are designed to be reusable after they are jettisoned from the shuttle craft. They are programmed to gently fly back to earth and land safely on the surface. This build are part of the Launch Site Alpha series of builds or known as LSA Series.

This is a complex craft so take special notice of how to operate the build below.

-----NOTES ON HOW TO OPERATE-----
  • 1. This Shuttle craft is quite capable of launching by itself without the need for the Mobile Launcher Platform to assist it. Once in a world, paste the ship facing upwards towards the sky and the Inertial Dampeners should prevent the Shuttle from crashing into the ground.

  • 2. Once you are ready for lift off, all you have to do is climb onboard the shuttle, sit in the main cockpit seat located at the front of the shuttle, and then press the Number 1 key on the first toolbar menu. That will start the whole process for lift off and will take only 45 seconds to launch after that. No need to press any other button after that. The shuttle will take off, jettison the boosters, and then come to a stop in low-earth orbit all on its own. Once the shuttle has stopped, you may proceed how you would like.

  • 3. The shuttle was designed to played with a speed mod installed in the world, so all of the settings for the Booster Module separation sequence was programmed around that. If you are playing with an unlimited speed mod installed then you don't have to change anything. If you are not playing with a speed mod installed, then you might want to change when the Booster Modules will separate from the Shuttle.

  • 4. These are the steps to take to change when the Booster Modules separate from the Shuttle if playing without a speed mod. First, when in the main cockpit seat, open the Control Panel and search for Programmable Block 4 (Main Body) - Altitude. Scroll down to the Argument section on this program block and change the argument to 30000;Timer Block 19 (Booster Module Sequence)

-----KEYPAD FUNCTIONS-----

When using the Main Control Seat located in Cockpit of the Shuttle, this is the toolbar functions for each key for that seat.
    Main Cockpit Toolbar Menu 1
  • 1- Timer Block (Main Launch Sequence Start) - Trigger Now (This will start the whole process for Lift Off, there's no stopping this process once started)

  • 2- Program Block (Main Body Altitude) - Run with Argument "stop" (This will cancel the trigger that will jettison the Booster Modules from the Shuttle)

  • 3- Landing Gear Timer Block - Trigger Now (This will lower the landing gear. Don't lower the landing gear when the Booster Modules are still connected to the Shuttle. The landing gear and doors will collide with the Booster Modules.)

  • 4- Landing Gear Timer Block - Trigger Now (This will raise the landing gear back into the Shuttle.)

  • 5- Atmospheric Flight Mode Timer Block - Trigger Now (This will open or close the protective doors covering the downward facing atmospheric thrusters and turn on or off the atmospheric thrusters. This will also raise or lower the nose canards.)

  • 6- Maneuvering Hydrogen Thrusters - On/Off (This will turn on or off the hydrogen thrusters on the top, bottom, left, and right side of the Shuttle. It's best to have these turned off when the Shuttle is still connected to the MLP to prevent Clang from attacking.)

  • 7- Maneuvering Ion Thrusters - On/Off (This will turn on or off the ion thrusters on the top, bottom, left, and right side of the Shuttle. It's best to have these turned off when the Shuttle is still connected to the MLP to prevent Clang from attacking.)

  • 8- Reverse Hydrogen Thrusters - On/Off (This will turn on or off the hydrogen thrusters on the front side of the Shuttle. It's best to have these turned off when the Shuttle is still connected to the MLP to prevent Clang from attacking.)

  • 9- Reverse Ion Thrusters - On/Off (This will turn on or off the ion thrusters on the front side of the Shuttle. It's best to have these turned off when the Shuttle is still connected to the MLP to prevent Clang from attacking.)

@Caiuscross Thanks, glad you like it.

@LordRaso I mainly did it for the cool factor. Granted, the shuttle could lift-off without the booster attachments but it would be with less flair.

This is one of the most epic and beautiful builds I've seen in quite some time

This build looks so slick! I think my only comment is the detachable booster pods don't look like add a great bit of thrust compared to the main engine array. Are they there mostly for the added fuel?
