Titan Vehicles Continued

Description
This is a continuation of Titan Vehicles by Halituis Amaricanous, starting with an update to Rimworld 1.5 and the latest version of Vehicle Framework. Do not enable both the original and this version or the code will fight itself.




This mod 3 adds three new heavy military vehicles to your Rimworld experience; the Avenger Helicopter, the Conquistador Frigate and the Warchief Main battle tank. Each has a unique ability, beyond their sheer size and firepower.

Requires Vehicles framework to work.




A product of theoretical science more then a purely pragmatic design, the avenger is designed to work as a flying platform for other vehicles, its speed is nothing special, and its fuel efficiency suffers, but there is no mistaking the power of blotting out the sky with tons of flying steel. Requires two pilots to operate.

NOTE: To use the ability the target vehicle must be smaller than the maximum size set in the options and have no pawns inside. Valid vehicles will show at the top of the list of items that can be loaded. A pawn will walk to the vehicle to be loaded then to the avenger but won't visually be carrying the vehicle. Unload the vehicle using the normal cargo interface to "drop" the vehicle.


A titanic ship originally crafted for simple cargo transportation refitted for use as a floating fortress and warship. Its modified flak cannon uses kinetic rails to provide fire support, and the sound of its warhorn will rally nearby fighter and urge them to fight harder.

Also known as an encampment on treads, this hulking mass of metal carries a full array of weaponry to gun down all that oppose its unstoppable advance. Features a built in low-shield to provide cover from enemy firepower that's big enough for the warchief and any nearby infantry or small vehicles. In addition to the main cannon there are two auto-cannon turrets, requiring a crew of four for full functionality.

Sorry for the stupid question but the avenger can't load cargo ? If i click on the load cargo button appear a empty window and i can' load anything

Is there a way to make the chopper work using Aerocraft Framework? It's so much more fun to have the helicopters function similarly to the rest of the vehicles, rather than being reusable drop pods.

Have only used the Avenger but it works perfectly, no complaints!
Would love a flying fortress combat version though

The HP values (however they work) seem a bit low on the warchief
Running over a dozen bugs completely killed the tank

I just want to chime in and give some praise to you @Nepenthe for being so willing to investigate an issue involving another mod, and not only concluding that the other mod is at fault, but even going the extra mile to explain what exactly the cause is and how to fix it. That is an incredibly rare thing to see, so very commendable!

The issue is AirDock.Building_HangerBuilding.insertx() decides if an object is a vehicleFramework vehicle by checking for thing.def.thingClass.FullName == "Vehicles.VehiclePawn" but the Vehicles in Titan Vehicles use a different Class that extends Vehicles.VehiclePawn so they can add additional custom code.

The List of vehicle classes used in Titan Vehicles is:

JAHV.Avenger
JAHV.WarChief
JAHV.Superchief
JAHV.Conquistador


Either the check can be extended out to include those names (which would need to be updated every time a mod extends Vehicles.VehiclePawn) or a different method is determining if a thing is a vehicle needs to be used.

Basically nothing, From what i can see when you click to "store" the vehicle it just doesnt do anything, it also doesnt spit out any errors from what i can see in dev mode checking the debug log, so im unsure if its working as intended and the titan vehicle isnt classified as a vehicle that it recognises or if its actually the airdock mods fault and that the titan vehicle is working as intended, im sorry im not of more use, i can if required stream on discord to you my current set up and show you the lack of interaction ?

Hello Nepenthe, i have contacted the Dev of https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2812930163 asking for a compatability patch so i am able to store your amazing vehicles in its airdock system, however they already have other vehicle framework vehicles that are able to be stored in the docks, so i am unsure if its a his mod or your mod issue, any assistance or clarity would be greatly appreciated. thx in advance!
