Touhou - Forest of Magic

Description
This mod adds the Forest of Magic from the Touhou series of games to Civ V as a civilization under the leadership of Marisa Kirisame. Should work with either G&K or BNW.

Unique Ability: Mushroom Magic

Founding cities reveals Mushroom Patches (which may generate Food, Production, or Science) within three tiles of the city and claims their tiles. Marsh tiles generate +1 Science.

(To explain Mushroom Patches more: upon founding a city, either 2 or 3 Mushroom Patches will be revealed within three tiles of the city. Every 30 turns after a city is founded, a new Mushroom Patch will be revealed, to a maximum of 5 Mushroom Patches within the three tile radius of the city. The location and type of the Mushroom Patches is randomized -- Mushroom Patches are most likely to appear in Forest, Jungle, or Marsh, but may appear in Plains and Grasslands tiles. They will not appear in Desert, Tundra, or Snow tiles. Mushroom Patches are improvements, and thus can be pillaged, and any other improvement built upon that tile will remove them. They come in three different types -- red, yellow, and blue -- which generate 1 Food, Production, or Science, respectively. With the discovery of Metal Casting and Fertilizer, these yields will be improved. However, only the Forest of Magic receives these yields, and other civs capturing a city with Mushroom Patches will not gain any benefit from them. Mushroom Patches also have a weaker version of the Citadel's damaging effect, causing 10 damage to an enemy unit ending its turn on top of or adjacent to their tile.)

Unique Unit: Witch

Replaces the Cannon. It does not need to set up to attack.

Unique Building: Atelier

Replaces the Workshop. In addition to the normal benefits of the Workshop, Forest tiles worked by a city with an Atelier generate +1 Science.

Modding credits:
The Mushroom Patches use models originally created for Civ 4 by Psychic Llamas.
The Witch uses models and effects created by Nomad or What.

Mod Compatibility:
Piety & Prestige
Unique Cultural Influence
Events and Decisions

Designer's Notes: One thing that should be mentioned is that, aside from the capital, city names are assigned to Marisa's cities in a dynamic fashion, based on the surrounding terrain. So between different games, it's unlikely you'll get the same city names showing up in the same order.

Any particular reason why the Atelier doesn't have an engineer slot, or was that an oversight?

Ok, strange question, but the technology tree for this mod isn't available. I establish a city and such, but when it tells me to choose a research the technology tree is blank. None of the graphics appear. Any suggestions?

Oh Stupid question. Are you thinking of doing a Reimu Civ Mod at all, or anyone thinking of doing it? I thought I'd ask.

Oh, and the Miko thing? Just use a Missionary model, I mean, they're both technically religious things...

@bouncymischa Mind explaining the Carnivorous plants? Also, link to Sukritact's events and decisions mod ples?

@Shakuras: The Fairy Tree can appear if you're using Sukritact's Events and Decisions mod. There's a random event where fairies will cause trouble, and if you leave them alone a Fairy Tree might appear.

As for the music, I do wish I could get it to play more often. I've been looking into making a Touhou soundtrack that might help.

How do you build a fairy tree ?
If I break a mushroom placed on a plain, will another pop in the nearby forest in the next 30 turn ?
The Marisa custom music rarely play, is there a way to get it more often ?

@HazardTree: I just posted an update for the mod. :D Among other things, it should solve the RAS conflict that's beena problem for a while.

@bronx819: I've got plans for one. Just have to learn enough about converting models to make a Miko unit...

Does this mod still work, or is it outdated?
