Blank (Pre-1.12) Tabletop

Description
After uploading the hilariously somewhat-bugged Skyrim Tabletop -- which is still the only other map table mod on the Workshop, for what it's worth (just had to brag a little here) -- I got a couple of requests to make a mod that emulates the pre-1.12, blank, black background, as the new map table's been giving some people FPS issues.

And so I did. And if you're one of those people, I hope this'll help solve your issues. I replaced the map table with... nothingness. Maybe it's a poignant metaphor for the void to which all kings and emperors eventually come at the end of their mortal lives. Or maybe it's just a black plane. You decide. Well, technically, it's a test cube model placed under the map, but if a test cube exists and no one is around to see it, does it make an FPS impact? Because of how the environments work, though, it's not a perfect recreation, as you can still move the camera around in all the funky ways you can with a regular (or Skyrim, wink wink) table, and you'll still hear environmental sounds like footsteps as well, but it's about at close as I can get, I think. You can pretend the footsteps are the ghosts of your character's ancestors, frowning upon how terribly inbred their proud, noble dynasty has become.

To activate it, go into the settings in the main menu, under Interface Styling. Change Map Table Style to Blank. You'll have to restart the game for the changes to take effect.

Thank you for reply!

That's most likely something hardcoded into the game, or if not, definitely outside of my skill level.

I'm sorry for being annoying, but i have no one else to ask, and i wonder if this is something a modder capable to fix? Maybe there is a way to delete or disable all new graphics they added in last major patch?

A kind stranger from PDX forums shared solution for this FPS issue of mine:

"Disable "Advanced Shader Effects" in the settings. It makes the terrain look a bit shit, but at least it removes the sudden FPS change when you zoom in and out between map levels.

I found that the difference in FPS between "Advanced Shader Effects" enabled and disabled is far larger after 1.12.1, than before.

After 1.12.1, where they added graphical effects for plagues, my FPS dropped to around 60, where normally I get around 200, only in the political map. "Advanced Shader Effects" is probably a switch to use a more advanced shader, and that shader they changed to acommodate plague graphics, which lowered performance. In 1.12.1 i could boost FPS to normal levels by unchecking the "disease graphics" checkbox in the mapmode section, but in 1.12.4 it seems to no longer have any effect.

You can check that 1.11.5 is the latest version of the game that is unaffected."

Damn, sorry to hear it didn't help you. I'd hoped that removing any 3D assets on screen would've done it, since that's about all I can really do in this case.

Sadly, it doesnt fix the problem even a bit in my case, and political map still cuts FPS in half while paper map and detailed both stable 60 FPS. I guess they messed up somewhere in hard-coded part of the game, that would explain why they went silence since update...
Anyway, thank you for your response and willing to help!

Wow! What a difference in FPS this makes!
Didn't even need a restart of game to take effect. May the Horned God Bless you!:steammocking:

What do you mean by from 3D to map view? Like when you zoom out? I had that issue while making this but I thought I fixed it before uploading.

if it isnt to much, will you fix the map going black when you switch from 3d to map view?
