Pariku, The Soul Embracer

This mods adds a new character, Pariku, to the game. The character is based of the streamer, ParikuYumi[www.twitch.tv], but stands as its own character within Isaac.

Lore wise, Pariku is the daughter of Lilith, and has deep control over souls. The more souls she controls, the stronger she becomes. In game, the more soul hearts you have, the stronger the character is. Losing these hearts, however, will make the stat buffs revert.



As stated above, Pariku gains power the more soul hearts she posses. These manifest as “stat buffs”. and each stat buff is randomized per run. This means that some runs, you may have more damage, and other runs, more luck.

Loosing these soul hearts (or black hearts) will also revert the buff. This means that you could be insanely OP during a boss fight, but loose one too many hearts, and the tables may turn!

Stat buffs will also get better the more soul hearts you gain. The first few buffs will be minimal, but as you gain more than 6+ hearts, the buffs will start getting better and better.

Pariku's Birthright will also give her charm tears and increase the chance of familiar items appearing

As it stands, this mod is in its infancy, but I definitely want to add more to the mod. That said, I want to make sure future content has the same quality as all the existing content does.

This means, that although I’d love to add more content such as items, familiars and a Tainted version of Pariku, I’d prefer if I could commission the sprites for them rather than do them myself. I’m a programmer and not an artist; I struggle with basic textures. So until I can commission more, additional content will be slow.
