Midgard Capitol Carrier v1.4

Description
Midgard (No Mods) Please Rate!

Like in Norse mythology Midgard is a protected home for mankind in deep space. Midgard is a fully capable forward operating base equipped with ample cargo capacity and a large battery bank. There are three gravity drives which can be used for propulsion. The forward gravity generators are also used for the gravity assisted runway launch system and Mass Driver installed in the nose of the ship.

The Mass Driver can be controlled in a small external control cab in the nose of the ship and from the Mass Driver control room above the launch runway and under the bow passenger compartment. When the front gravity generators are active red warning lights will flash and doors will close off the bow galley. When these warning lights are flashing jetpack use is highly recommended. The Mass Driver has a separated conveyor and storage system to avoid accidental discharge of important materials. The mass Driver is reloaded by activating the reloading sequence that uses piston connectors.

Air Locks or consecutive doors leading out of the ship are marked with red exit lights and will have a button panel nearby to open and close the double doors. On each side of the ship there are five somewhat hidden access points. One access point is near the top nose section of the ship, accessing the bow passenger compartment. Another hidden behind the large white side wing provides a side entrance to the runway launch tunnel. There are two access points hidden near the ship’s top and bottom stern forward firing thrusters. Lastly there is an access point on each side of the rear dorsal wing. Sensors throughout the ship provide automatic lighting to save energy and FPS.

Midgard provides ample floor space for landing or working on craft. Additional vertical landing pads can clamp onto ships and connectors can resupply vessels. The docking clamps will release when they sense a pilot near the landing pads and will reengage 25 seconds after the pilot leaves that zone. Vehicles I have built have a Start Up/Shut Down procedure hot keyed #9. This Start Up/Shut Down procedure activates the crafts thrusters, turns on the antenna and batteries, then disengages the connector and powers it off for a few seconds for easy disembarking. The vertical docking clamps and connectors can be manipulated by entering one of the two landing bay control pods on each side of the vertical landing pads. The landing pads and all other landing bay operations can be controlled in the rear operations room above the rear door. These docking clamps and connectors can be individually manipulated or in sections. At the base of the landing bay is the parking bay with four docking clamps and connectors controlled with button panels and control seats for remote operations.

Repair Bay/Decommission Bay
Repair bays straddle a large rear landing pad. Each repair bay utilizes two welding arms with piston extenders. The welding arms can be manipulated to reach around ships within the landing pad and shovel scrap and small ships into the decommission bays. The welders are connected by conveyers to the ships storage containers. Automated grinders with flashing warning lights decommission scrap or old ships beneath each set of arms. The welding arms can be controlled via consoles on the repair bay floor behind corresponding button panels, and in the operations room above the repair bays/landing pad.

The large Missile turrets can be controlled by the gunner seat in each turret or through remote control and cameras. The turret hatches line up with doors near the runway launch tunnel when the turrets are facing down. The turrets are connected to the conveyor system but have backup storage containers in case of emergencies.

Special thanks to Death’sHead for the mech inspiration and thanks to Dementalist for the name and design philosophy behind the T-22 Mole.

Still a Work in Progress…
Thank you for all the comments. I appreciate the constructive criticism and look forward to more.

Aye, jumpdrive and a self refueling hydrogen thruster system! and a second updated copy that is for non oxygen servers with a more durable blast/hangar door! If thats not too much to ask :)

oh ok nvm nice man

@SuperWarDog I did rebuild the Midgard once. You can find it here http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=401545824&searchtext=midgard

Even still the Midgard is in need of another iteration, one with jump drives and hydrogen thrusters.

DUDE if u would update this thing it would be the baddest carrier for exploration on the workshop man you got to!

Very badass Ship sir, nice innovation and design, and great color work. Props to you.

This is a titanic thing of majesty and innvoation. Great Work! But it'll bring most computers to their knees or worse, lol. Fantastic design elements, sense of scale is not out of proportion, and fantastic assembly area innovation for the launching of craft, that doubles as a mass driver cannon.

Wow. 10/10.

I need a cigarette.

I have been experimenting with some timer block presets to build different blueprints

Alternatively make a sort of preset run patterns using timer blocks, that would also help
usability of the "ship foundry" section.

I do like the overall impression on the ship, its a bit too much open space in it for my taste but what ever floats your boat i think the ship is great with one exception, that is ship construction
section of the ship i can see what approach the creator was going for with the ability to use both welders for one larger ship than any of the single ones could handle however, i still feel that they are a bit over engineered and that perhaps a simpler solution would have been more effective. it would not have been as visually appealing but more functional.
