Description
Name: Vertical Corn Farm
From milestone: International City 4
Cost: 1500
Jobs: 18
Salary per People: 90

Modern vertical farming helps reducing land-usage but runs at much higher costs.

Why? At higher milestones there are two options of how you like to proceed.
You could follow the vanilla idea of the game and intensify your trading system - or you replace agricultural areas with high density buildings. The later is my choice of game play, because i like having a self-sufficient city. And for such vertical farms are required for allowing more building space.
Since such becomes relevant at a later stage of the game, i am allowing these vertical farms from International City 4 onward. At that point in time you should have established enough high value industry for the export, so the higher costs of the vertical farms should not be a problem.

Actually, veggies and fruits farms would have been the first candidates for any vertical farms. It is just that my own city got hit at International City 5 with the new Corn farms being introduced via patch. Therefore, i jumped onto Vertical Corn Farms first.

@DartMada (I): Check here
Nott sure if and when i do the vertical fruits farm coz i did it already twice only for learning that HRC is still not saving changes on a new asset in the Editor created via Save As without restart. That's one of the reasons, why i moved back to Cities Skylines 1.

@DartNada (II): I will give HRC a try again in a year or so. Me curious if the dev(s) will have increased further the complexity of the supply chain early in the game aka making it harder for new players, pushing even more for non-sustainable cities by enforcing more trade requirements, get anyhow the crashes under controll which happen in increased manner after about 30 minutes of playing this game without saving, ensured that autosave is not causing crashes, fixed the Public Transport DLC to allow connected circles without adding a non-selected station, will have given some meaning to the Public Transport DLC in respect to far away work places, ensured that no sections of metro tracks have weird twists at the end, ensure that no water pipes disappear in large cities and enabled better pathfinding between bus stations for straight connections even in a complex setup of streets, introduced intersections not having bumps sending your car sky high when speeding for a delivery, ... .

Cool. thanks for this. Vertical farming. can you do it for the other growable resources?
