Description
No Multitasking Scientists

Abstract
Scientists that are not doing science will not contribute to science.


Overview
In the base game, scientists can only be staffed in the lab, or be sent into a covert action. The game knows how to ignore the science contribution of scientists doing the latter. However, plenty of mods add new staff slots, or change existing engineer slots to scientists slots. It doesn't quite make sense that scientists in those slots will contribute to science. This mod will fix this behavior.

The functionality already exists in LWOTC, in this work we merely extracted it as a standalone.

Configuration
In XComNoMultiTaskScientist you can determine which slots scientists should allow to attend to keep their science progress. By default it includes the normal lab slot, which is also used by RustyDios' celebrated Combined Workshop and Laboratory facility. If the player knows of any additional non-laboratory lab slots that should be exempted, please let me know.



Compatibility
Will work with Combined Workshop and Laboratory without problems.
Should not be used in LWOTC, as LWOTC already has this functionality built-in.


Required Mods
Without Community Highlander this mod does nothing.


Known Issues
In the event that there is a suspicion that this mod behaves incorrectly, logging can be turned on. However the logging are very intensive, so it is not advisable to leave logging enabled if not necessary.

In principle it can be done. I doubt it will be very impactful though - science score is an integer. And the science score of each scientist is 5. So you don't have a whole lot of wiggle room there, and changes won't be very significant.
If I have the time then I'll add it, but no promises.

Is it possible to add a configurable % to it though? So a Scientist at base doing something else still can contribute, even if a little.

Haha, literally the same deal with Staff GREMLINs Anywhere. It just works with the CombiWSLab by virtue of it using the vanilla staff slots.
