That base must have some kind of ventilation system to recirculate the air. There should be air ducts around there. They must need a lot of power to run the base. There's probably a diesel generator somewhere, and since they require oxygen, there must be openings for that too.

Utilizing the hidden air vents is a good way to get in undetected. Also might be able to find allied soldiers such as Solid Snake or Grey Fox hiding around somewhere.
