Rain's Tools & Blades

Description
This mod adds some cool new tools & weapons to PZ, in both Single Player and Multiplayer! It doesn't overwrite anything that's base PZ stuff, so it shouldn't cause issues with any other mods that also stay true to the base PZ code.

List of new stuff
Bush Machete
A very well crafted Bush/Latin style carbon steel machete. Durable and sharp!
Curved Machete
Not quite a hawkbill, but still a hooked-blade machete that's just a bit longer than the other machetes.
Sawback Machete
A true multitool! You can hack zombies to pieces with it, and you can use the hard toothed saw blade to turn logs into planks. Leave your saws at home if you find one of these!

So we have three new machetes. What's so cool about that? How about the fact that instead of having to wear your machete on your back slot, you can wear all of these machetes on your belt instead!

Hatchet
A run-of-the-mill carpenter's hatchet.
Bearded Hatchet
A more viking-style carving hatchet.
Bowie Knife
A very sharp and effective hunting knife.
Spears for each machete (except the sawback) and the bowie knife.
Axe (Fiberglass)
Similar to both the fire axe and the wood axe, but with one HUGE improvement. The handle is made of nylon-fiberglass composite which makes it exceptionally durable! The downside being that once you do break this fine tool, wood glue won't help you repair it...
Axe-Maul
An absolute behemoth, this massive splitting axe is exactly what your woodcutting efforts will need. It also has a nylon-fiberglass handle and because of its size and weight, you can bust through a wall with this thing! Just like a sledgehammer, but better!
2 different types of Wakizashi
Let's be honest, we all want to find a Katana at some point. Did you ever wonder why we didn't have Wakizashis too? Well now we do! It's very similar to the Katana, but both the blade and the handle are shorter, allowing you to use this fine collector's item as a onehanded weapon AND attach it to your belt.
1 new variation to the Katana
It's just another Katana with a different style handle, that's all.

And last but not least...
Swiss Army Knife
The absolutely fantastic multi-tool that will help YOU survive far longer in the zombie apocalypse. Forgot your can opener at home? Don't worry, the swiss has one! Caught a big fish but you don't have anything sharp enough to slice it? Flick out that lil' blade! Wanna tear up that worn leather jacket into strips? Use the little scissor-thing! Can't disassemble that annoying door or attach something to your gun because you forgot your screwdriver? Of course it has a tiny screwdriver-head in it! Sadly this awesome thing is so tiny that you can't use it as a weapon. Why would you even want to though?

Repairing
I've put in new repair recipes for all the stuff in this mod AND for the basegame Katana as well. You can fix up anything and everything in this mod with duct tape, adhesive tape and glue. Everything that has a wood handle can also be fixed with wood glue.

About balance
Since being able to carry machetes on the belt is such a huge bonus, my machetes do a bit less both normal and critical damage than the basegame one.
The new katana and both wakizashis are almost just as rare as the basegame katana. I've given them a few additional but still highly unlikely spawn points. If you want them in your single player runs, you have two options. Either just use cheat mode to get them or dig into the loot tables and edit them for yourself for higher spawn rates.
I designed this mod primarily for my server, which is a vanilla+ style one. This means that the loot tables are very similar to the basegame loot tables. For example the Axe-Maul is exactly as rare and difficult to find as sledgehammers are. There are a couple of new spots where my stuff can spawn in though, so be vigilant when looting!

Credits
Massive kudos to AnOutdatedMind for creating the 3D model for the sawback machete!

Do not reupload any of my stuff without my permission. It took a lot of my spare time to get this mod done.

Same thing happens with the sledgehammer.
You're obviously using KI5's vehicles like everyone else.
That "bug" isn't up to me to fix, since it's caused by the vehicle mods, not my mods.

If equip axe-maul while sitting in driver seat the axe would clip through the vehicle roof. But in passengers seats it is fine

I was more referring to a pvp situation than zombies though, I can't cut someone with my hands. Still, fair enough- it's your mod.

Turning the swiss army into a held weapon is a headache that I'm just not going spend my free time on.
Also I do disagree. If I'm dealing with a zombie, I'd rather just push 'em away and book it than flick out the blade of a freaking swiss. Probably impossible to even take out a Romero-style zombie with one.
I'll stay focused on making my gun mod. :)

I think you should maybe be able to use the swiss army knife as a weapon; yes it's very small and obviously wouldn't be your first choice, but If i'm a situation where it's either the swiss army blade or my bare hands, I'm gonna want to use the knife.

You could still discourage this by making melee use drain durability very quickly far more quickly than practical tool use.

@Sicklebanana_499 The game doesn't have models or textures for belts or holsters so I wouldn't even know where to begin with modeling a sheath onto a character. :D
I'm a complete noob in 3D modeling and .lua stuff.
And currently I'm making a firearms mod that's taking up my free time so for now there won't be any attempts from me to create belt-worn sheaths.
Sicklebanana_499 26 Mar @ 1:28pm
Could you make a machete sheath?

@mista Simple Melee Overhaul overwrites base PZ so it might not be compatible with my mod. Bushcraft Tools and Bushcraft Rare Tools to my knowledge only add new items like my mod does so they should be fully compatible.
