Left 4 Dead 1 - AI Nodes for Campaign Maps (And Navmeshes)

Description
Improvement Addon for Left 4 Dead 1 Maps. Adds AI Nodes (and Navmeshes) to all the campaign maps.

Enables Half Life 2 NPCs to navigate the maps, and lets you also use random spawners to do various runs in Left 4 Dead 1 maps.

Requires Left 4 Dead 1 (NOT Left 4 Dead 2!)

Features:
  • AI Nodes for 25 maps from Left 4 Dead 1. Includes all the maps of No Mercy, Crash Course, Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest and The Sacrifice. Initial positions of AI Nodes were first auto-generated using the auto-generated Navmesh, and then they were further altered and corrected by hand to improve connections and placements between nodes.

  • AI Nodes are only present inside the playable area for Survivors. There's no nodes out of bounds or in areas where only Infecteds can reach. The positions of the AI Nodes cover A LOT of areas, so there will always be variations when spawning NPCs randomly.

  • Auto-generated Navmeshes.

  • Corrected the infected versus interact textures that show up in Crash Course and The Sacrifice by making them invisible.

  • Half Life 2 NPCs should be able to navigate all the specified maps fairly well with little issues, unless they're blocked by elevation or obstacles. "Should" being in extremely big quotations, as you can never be sure with this sh*tass dinosaur engine.

  • Can be combined with the following addons to improve your overall map experience when doing various runs:

Left 4 Dead 1 - Spawn Location Fix
Left 4 Dead 1 - Clean Up Specific Entities
Left 4 Dead 1 - Next Map Bind Convar

Limitations:
  • Albeit being an afterthought as the AI Nodes were the main focus of this addon, Navmeshes have still been included (and even optimized with an addon), but they have the usual issues that come from being auto-generated, most notably extending to out of bound areas.

  • The versus versions of the campaign maps aren't included for obvious reasons.

  • Left 4 Dead 2 Maps are not happening. They're inferior to Left 4 Dead 1 maps, and I'm not particularly keen on wasting another week or more with them.

Credits:
  • Coffee Man: Nearly going insane noding these maps, in the span of roughly a week.

  • Nodegraph Editor Expansion, Easy Navmesh Editor and Navmesh Optimizer: Saving A LOT of work and time for me while noding up the maps. Seriously, BIG THANKS to the wonderful people who created these tools, without them this addon would've never happened.

  • Jimmy Carr, Bill Burr and 80s Hits: Keeping me from going insane while I worked on the maps.

would be really cool if L4D2 had ai nodes and navmesh but i do get that it's way harder to do that than L4D looking from the comment but still would be cool

Hey, do you have any idea why none of your L4D map addons are working for me?
I spawn in the wrong place, there aren't any nodes, and even when I try to use the l4d_nextmap command I get the "You're not playing in a Left 4 Dead 1 campaign map!" message.
I have L4D installed, I've launched it, and I mounted it.

L4D2's branch is more unstable and prone to crashing when mounted in Garry's Mod, as it has had a lot of engine updates (especially with the Last Stand Update).

Whereas L4D1's branch hasn't had any major updates in a LONG while, so it's branch is significantly more stable when mounted in Garry's Mod.

And for some optimization reasons since L4D1's has less overall file size, as I'm pretty crazy about keeping optimization in my Gmod copy as high as possible.

Pretty weird l4d1 is a requirement when the maps are packaged with l4d2. Is there anything specific about the l4d1 version that makes it worthwhile?
