Map Information
  • Map Name: gmi_vourta_sector78_prologue
  • Spawn Points: 6
  • Mode: Single/Multiplayer
  • Type: Base Defense Player vs NPC Waves
This map is experimental. Subject may changed in future (including story, the gameplay mechanics, etc)

Map Requirements
  • Doesn't need any game content mounted. Everything is packed in the map.
  • Can be played on Sandbox. Not sure with other "coop-like" / hl2 campaign gamemodes.

Experimental Features
  • Using LUA functions for extra map functionality: Respawn with Previous Weapon, Storm Damage, Custom HUD
  • Restartable-map without having to actually restart the map (by using Map Cleanup)
  • Evaluation Score Result system
  • Automatic Map Changes (See "ConVars" below)
  • For Fun, if you bored enough. Spawn with any weapons you like and play with your friends.
  • Singleplayer/Multiplayer Support

Configs / ConVars
Notes: This config is only effective when this map is running.
  • ConVar: "gmi_vourta_nextmap" - Enter map name (e.g. gm_construct) that should be loaded after mission has ended. Leaving this unchanged will cancel next map and you can stay on current map or restarting the map by using GMod's Map Clean Up ( Options > Clean Up )
  • ConVar: "gmi_vourta_allowhide" - Allow Any Entities (Player & NPCs) to hide from "Storm Blast" to avoid getting damaged (Default is 1) - Setting to 0 makes everyone hurt no matter where you're hiding.
  • chat command: /restart - Admin only function to restart map while in active mission. Using "gmod_admin_cleanup" or GMod's Built in Clean up will also works and will respawns every players from beginning (active/inactive mission).
  • chat command: /stripwep - Strip all of your weapons before entering a battle, alternative version of pressing a "Remove Weapon" button from the map.
  • "sbox_noclip" will be set to 0 by default and will revert after campaign is over/map is about to change.
  • "gmod_maxammo" will be set to 450 by default and will revert after campaign is over/map is about to change.
  • Gravity Gun, PhysGun, Toolgun and Camera will be removed once the mission is occuring. They will be re-enabled again once the mission is over/map is about to change.
  • You will unable to spawn anything after entering the battle. Be sure to fully ready and arm your weapons (by spawning some weapons) before entering the battle!

Story

This map (and GMI's Hunt episodes) Has no Relation/Connection with Half-Life 2 Universe so the story is built up from my personal GMI's Hunt Universe.

"(Transcript Message) Somewhere in 6 years earlier, [INSERT_NAME_HERE] has been dispatched and your mission is to defend the armory cache before [agencies] (Combine) took over. Those cache will soon be used by [Redacted] to procceed area of [Redacted] for further "Research" for [Redacted-Entity]. Those [Storm//Core] has to be eliminated to avoid from blast... we can't lose people's [SOUL_NAME_SID] because of every blast it made. From now it appears to inactive but, still..., just watch out for the "blast". Oh and their actual purpose for research? Well... who knows... We need to find out."

Battle Requirements
  • At least a Launchers / Explosives has been equipped
  • At least a Melee, Pistol/357, SMG/AR, Shotgun/Sniper has been equipped
  • If you somehow keep dying on specific NPC wave (usually you didn't prepared launchers/explosives), you need to "/restart" the mission (this is game design so it's considered failed mission/game over)

Known Issues
  • Sometimes AI can be dumb or just being stationary: set "ai_disabled 0" and make sure you don't have any AI NPC Improvement/Enhancement addons installed! Every NPC used in this map are using from Vanilla NPCs from HL2 so that using any AI enhancement may break several maps function.
  • Avoid using expensive addons that could break map's entities (like Atomic bomb or something)
  • No Navigation Meshes yet, sorry pal.
  • Combine Elites are **trying** to move/jump off from the train, yes AI nodes are kinda fricked up at some point.

use "ai_serverragdolls 0" in console or turn off "Keep Corses" in context menu.
