Blade Takes to the Streets (Fighter the Movie the Game)!

Blade, the pawn of M. Bison, was a last-minute character addition in the cult classic arcade game: Street Fighter the Movie, now sprite ripped into Rivals of Aether! He's a simple but effective rushdown that makes up for his lack of range with solid frame data, a fast disruptive projectile, and a powerful comeback mechanic in the form of Danger.

MAIN MECHANIC: Danger
When Blade is at over 100%, they gain access to a Danger attack by pressing ATTACK+SPECIAL, which fires a powerful bazooka projectile!

NSPECIAL: Assassin Dagger
Throws a quick, weak blade that flinches grounded opponents. The aerial version throws daggers at a diagonal and can be land-canceled!

Watt tip: Daggers are really fast and disruptive, so I'd use them pretty frequently to shut down the opponent, especially up close where you can potentially combo off of them.

FSPECIAL: Life-Shaver
A multi-hit spinning dagger attack that propels Blade forward as long as Special is held down! It stalls Blade in the air briefly, making it a decent recovery option.

Watt tip: This can act as a pretty decent finisher! Sometimes holding it into the opponent's face can catch them off guard too.

USPECIAL: Teleport
A quick, short-ranged teleport that goes through the stage and can be land-canceled. The teleport has a hitbox that leads into a backwards command throw!

Watt tip: This is REALLY funny offstage ;)

GROUNDED DSPECIAL: Neck Hanging Tree
Blade grabs the opponent by the neck and strangles them. It's a short-ranged attack, but deals a lot of damage and leads into a tech situation!

Watt tip: The range makes it kinda hard to use, but the damage and tech chase make it worth going for in a pinch! Plus on a lot of characters, you can get a free Jab out of it ;P

AERIAL DSPECIAL: Sky Dagger Kick
Down Special has an air variant, trading the command grab for a divekick with a powerful sweetspot! Hitting an enemy or wall bounces Blade upwards, extending his recovery.

Watt tip: Use this to mix up your recovery timings and/or escape juggles! The sweetspot is also pretty easy to land, and you have a decent enough recovery to make hail-mary-ing the attack okay.

Special thanks to:
- JoePReal for joking about Blade in Rivals and helping me figure out the moveset
- Heathen & Shadow for playtesting the character
- Alexalchemy for being an amazing friend and practice partner that brought my motivation up for this awesome game

Yep, can confirm that it's for the last character you've downloaded, and not a Blade-specific issue!

re:Jellybean_Arrow It might be a bug with the game itself actually, since I just downloaded some new characters and it seems to have fixed the issue? This isn't the first time Rivals has had weird bugs with newly installed Workshop characters lol

when you wanna do a mirror match (at least in practice mode) it freezes the game and softlocks

re:IS4 It's actually pretty simple! You first create a bool (true/false) variable in init.gml to act as the Go! trigger, then have a command in update.gml that sets Go to true when over 100% (I forget the exact function off the top of my head), as well as a command in death.gml that sets it to false when you die. From there, you'd have to make a new attack GML file and run some code in set_attack.gml to change an attack into its Go variant when the Go variable is true!
As for motion inputs... I'm not sure how to do that myself, so I'd recommend asking people in the Extended Workshop Discord server, since someone there might know ^^

but what really caught my attention was when you reach 100%, I would like to know how you programmed it because I am trying to do a terry bogard with the GO mechanics and I would love to know how you did it please...

Would it really be in the spirit of Street Fighter: The Movie, the arcade game known for rotoscoping human actors as a way to ride off the success of Mortal Kombat, to NOT make a character from it into a funny mixeled sprite rip?

I said it before, but this was a character I just made for the fun of it for a friend in a few days. I'm making the things I want to make for my own enjoyment, and if you really have a problem with that... that's fine and understandable, but please just keep it to yourself and move on before you make yourself look any worse than you do right now.
