Foot Soldier - Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2

There's a lot of interesting quirks about this character and his design. He was originally depicted with goggles, look at GW1's box art, but never had any in any of his hats.

He was meant to in GW2 as well, but never did, even though they changed the design of his helmet a little.
His unlockable Gold Statue had his helmet from GW1 however, with the goggles on it. And if one were to take that mesh and apply the GW1 helmet texture to it, it would be fully textured. So it was all ready to go... why didn't they use it?

Battle for Neighborville... we don't like to discuss. He still didn't have any goggles.
