Description


What does this mod do?
This mod makes caravan formation occur instantly after selecting gear and pawns, but only if there are no hostile pawns on the tile that are discovered. It will mimic the dev mode function “form caravan instantly”. This mod came about as a thought I had walking down the street, thinking about what would encourage players more to explore the map. I see no purpose for the caravan formation process being as slow and painful as it is if there is no immediate danger.

Balance?
Should be fine, unless you have some sort of foreknowledge of incoming raids that you can instantly dodge. I tried to consider as many angles as I could, and I just didn't see anything too glaring enough to stop the idea in its tracks.

Mod Interaction Notes
  • Vehicle Framework - If I remember correctly the form caravan system for VF is unfinished apparently and will be merged with the main caravanning option at some point, for now this mod doesn't touch vehicles which I am personally fine with.
  • Giddy Up 2 - Works perfectly fine after a test.

Mid-save?
Should be fine.

Credits
The harmony stuff was commissioned from Taranchuk, bless his soul. I'm in the process of learning it myself and wanted a good jumping off point.

Compatibility
Should have no problems if you're using anything in my Fernworld modpack. I'm assuming most stuff is fine regardless. If it works fine with the dev mode "send instantly" system, then it should work perfectly here.

For some reason this didn't work on a mission map after all enemies were dead, nor in my base when I just sent a caravan from a caravan hitching spot. Using multiplayer. The mod worked before. Any way to contact you to get more info to you?

When this mod is installed along with Save Our Ship 2, the load and launch button on regular Empire shuttles seems to vanish.
