Vanilla Races Expanded is a brand new series of mods to enhance Biotech features, add to the storytelling and the world-building of RimWorld, and to introduce new, cool types of xenohumans, complete with their own unique genes, behaviors, mechanics and items.

Our goal for Vanilla Races Expanded - Pigskin was to make the pigskin xenotype a little bit more unique and to have it tie to the existing pigskin lore and their origin. You can expect to get access to a variety of new genes that will make it easier to create a fast growing, nutrient-rich human that can be butchered to yield pork and pigskin. On top of that, a new Boarskin xenotype may appear in pigskin raids now. They are tougher, harder, braver and generally visually different thanks to the big tusks protruding from their mouths.

The inclusion of the organ regeneration gene will allow your pigskins to regrow any missing organs, which should make them more than viable for some cheeky organ harvesting operations. The ever-growing gene will allow you to make colossal warriors that will become more stagger resistant and survivable with age. The rapid growth gene is perfect for vat grown soldiers as it will age them, well, rapidly, which means they will be ready to serve much sooner. The coward gene will allow you to control your slave population easily, and the inclusion of the pork flesh will mean that you will be able to grow the ultimate livestock in your back garden.

Damn, it’s one of the most wicked mods we’ve done so far, on par with cat girl highmates.

Vanilla Races Expanded - Pigskin adds following mechanics to the base game:

[forms.gle]

Q: Will this mod work without Biotech DLC?
A: No. It uses the new gene system to work with Biotech.

Q: Will you make a HAR version of this race?
A: No, this is exclusively for the Biotech DLC.

Q: What organs can regrow using the Organ regrowing gene?
A: Only internal organs can regrow thanks to this gene - this includes liver, kidneys, lungs, heart and stomach.

Q: Will this mod affect existing pigskins?
A: No, it will not affect pigskins that already exist. Only newly spawned pigskins will be affected.

Q: Do these genes appear in genepacks in the game?
A: They do! You can find the individual genes and apply them to any pawn!

Q: Where will boarskins spawn?
A: They are a part of the pigskin faction and are known to lead pigskin raids to battle.

Q: Can I add it to an ongoing save?
A: Yes, but I don’t think you can safely remove xenotype mods, so don’t come crying when your game breaks if you remove mods!

Q: I have a suggestion!
A: Excellent! Pop it in the comments section.

Q: CE compatible?
A: No idea. If it is, I’d appreciate if someone from CE let me know.

There should be ideological settings you can change, might be in the tab about "cannibalism" because all the xenotypes in RimWorld lore, are just genetically modified humans. There is most definitely a setting for organ harvesting, allowing you to harvest without moodlet from pigskins, as referenced above.

@sammy2020 report a bug with the forums

is it intended that the gens that effect body size also increase HP of limbs BUT they never fully heal so you end up having pawns counting as sick/injured for trade purposes and stat %'s on the health tab of the pawn . while very minor its annoying

Does this mod, or any that you might know of and recommend, make it so that there is a different option when using the butcher spot for butchering pigskins from other humans? Also even though they now produce pork does it still give the debuff for 'butchering a human'?

Alright, thanks. Guess I'll go mod hunting haha.

Works on my machine. Tested with both this+framework, and my regular test list.

Probably something in your modlist is messing around with the graphics in a bit of a reckless manner.

I came across a small graphical glitch that I think is related to the ever-growing gene from this mod. It's not a big deal, but if a pawn with the ever-growing gene has red eyes, they appear in the middle of the pawn's neck—where they'd normally be if the pawn were regular size. This might happen with other eye colours or implants, but I haven't checked. It only happens when the pawn is facing sideways, though.

The left pawn is regular-sized, and the right one has the ever-growing gene.

Fantastic mod, however! Thanks for making it :)

Prisoners can survive euthanization with ever-growing if their head/neck/brain is grown enough. Weird combo of deathless + ever-growing pawn + combat extended so a pawn survived with a 21.0 damage brain cut which causes +1154% pain. Ouch.
Feels like a failed electric chair experiment. Let him die for goodness sake.

Nope, sorry.
