Description
The mod adds the ability to decontaminate toxic wastepack on the versatile assembler from the "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids" mod (the idea to combine recycling and this mod was suggested by KaneDraco). The decontamination process is faster than on the wastepack atomizer, but it consumes catalyst ingredients. The mod will suit those who think that the wastepack atomizer is too slow, but do not want to simply increase its speed, as they think that would upset the balance.

A new recipe will appear on the versatile assembler. It requires:
5 Wastepack
10 Psychoid leaves
20 Chemfuel.
After 24 hours, 5 Steel will appear.
If you have "Vanilla Recycling Expanded" installed, 25 trashbrick will appear instead of 5 Steel.

It is understood that the assembler mixes some sort of substance from psychoid leaves and chemfuel to neutralize the toxic wastepack. The process is a complex chemical reaction. As a result, a relatively harmless inert mass is formed, which assembler gets rid of (ejects as ash and slag into the atmosphere). The by-product is some steel (I just needed to specify some harmless substance as the end result, ordinary steel was well suited for this role). If you have the "Vanilla Recycling Expanded" mod installed, the harmless inert mass is tamped into trashbrick (accordingly, you won't get steel, all useful substances remain in trashbrick).

5 Wastepack per day is the best performance in terms of balance. At base settings, this is 2.5 times more than the wastepack atomizer. It's enough to make you wonder if it's worth spending resources on a faster toxic wastepack atomizer. I would also like to remind you that in the "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids" mod you can customize the speed of factories. I recommend to set the coefficient at least 0.5 (it speeds up factories by 2 times). For example, with a factor of 0.2, it will be possible to disarm 25 Wastepack in one day. Thanks to this process will be attractive even if you play mod "X - Fast Recycling" (with it wastepack atomizer recycles 10 toxic wastepack per day).

Fair enough

Discord is there (von_neyman). However, I'm not good enough at making mods to announce a collection of ideas (I'm not a programmer, all my mods are written exclusively in XML). For most of the suggestions, I'll have to say "I can't do that". Let things stay as they are))))
KaneDraco 23 Jun @ 6:09am
@graf do you have a discord or some other method where people may suggest mod ideas?
Graf  [author] 20 Jun @ 1:30am
@KaneDraco
And this is a great idea! Psychoid fits the role of catalyst perfectly. It can even be logically justified. For all we know, a race of toxic humans have an addiction to psychoid. Obviously, that's for a reason. We can conclude that psychoid neutralizes the destructive effects of toxic waste. That means it can be used to create a chemical compound that can neutralize toxic waste.
@Scorpio
I released an update where I changed the recipe. I also lowered its cost significantly to make it look more appealing.

It's probably the neutroamine requirement that makes it seem costly. Without another mod to produce it is a rare and costly catalyst. Maybe change it to psychoid or herbal meds?

Oh I am still using it. I have a mod that adds a waste pack pipe network so i can automate the majority of the input/output operations. I sell the trash bricks to traders once i stock too many. If I want the actual recycling products from recycling expanded i use the assembler from project rimfactory to automate that chain now. For a quick waste disposal I'm satisfied with the mod.

@KaneDraco
Can I ask you, as the author of the mod idea, for feedback? The main question. Do you use it at all? Or do you use other, simpler methods of waste disposal in practice (e.g. catapulting into empty terrain). If you use it, are you happy with the cost of the prescription? Has there been any desire to make it several times cheaper? Don't be afraid to offend me with a "the mod turned out to be terrible, I immediately unsubscribed from it" response, I value feedback. Thanks in advance.

@Scorpio
Why do you think the balance is terrible? Such a statement needs to be supported by some logical argument. Does the recipe seem too expensive? Just a reminder, the factories from "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids" allow you to produce the resources that are used as the catalyst in the recipe from this mod. This means that you should have no problem producing the resources you need, and the cost is well worth it.
In addition, this mod was written at the request of people who felt that the vanilla method of recycling was too simple, they also wanted factories to be involved in the recycling process. These people are happy with the balance of the mod.
I am open to discussion, I listen to other people's opinions and I am able to admit mistakes. But I need something concrete, figures, calculations, arguments, not just an abstract value judgment.

this is terribly balanced all that for so little gain?

Downloaded. Thank you for the mod
