Description
The Suez Canal is an artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea through the Isthmus of Suez and dividing Africa and Asia. The 193.3-kilometre-long canal is a key trade route between Europe and Asia. In 1858, Ferdinand de Lesseps formed the Suez Canal Company for the express purpose of building the canal. Construction of the canal lasted from 1859 to 1869. The canal officially opened on 17 November 1869, cutting a route from London to the Arabian Sea by approximately 8,900 kilometres and allowing ships to avoid a lengthy trip around the African continent. In 2021, more than 20,600 vessels took advantage of this detour by traversing the canal, an average of 56 per day.

The Suez Canal increases your trade route capacity by 2 and gives all sea trade routes from the city +150% range. It must be built in a coastal city, and requires Industrialization.

No way, last update this year? Any chance you'll make some new wonders?

Hi, the wonder has its "MaxStartEra" as "ERA_ATOMIC"; shouldn't it be "ERA_POSTMODERN"?

Kyle Banana,
So because 1 Civ gets a little more of a bonus from it; It becomes "OP"?
If you don't like being "overpowered" like that, then don't play that Civ. Don't even have them in that game while this is installed. Simple.

If you play Venice you get +4 trade routes and I think it's overpowered.
Wandering Mania 23 Mar @ 5:29pm
Well, if you play the 'Yet (not) another Earth map pack' and have a city in the actual location where the Suez Canal would be; You can have 2 coast tiles on either side, even though the wonder would still only require one.

Still, thanks a bunch for this wonder. As I always hold that area as mentioned above, and having the actual wonder in that city just makes it complete.

Ideally yes, but we're limited in what we can require code-wise so we can't do that unfortunately

shouldn't it require 2 coast tiles in two opposite sides? idk just a thought
