Hey there :) I just updated the mod to version 1.2.0. You are now able to configure the modifier key (CTRL) with any key you like - or deactivate it at all by removing the assignment.
If anyone is playing from a non-windows environment and noticing translation issues in the settings menu, please re-abo the mod in the steam workshop. The reason for this is that steam is not updating the directory names properly if only case specific changes were made. This should be no issue on windows systems, since this OS is not case sensitive.
I tried to change the archives by my own with no good results. I had an error when I launched the server.
Maybe I explained bad my suggestion, so here I go again: I would like to use Alt + E combination instead of CTRL + E combination. When I talked about "ALT / SHIFT" I was saying the possibility to use "SHIFT" or "ALT" modifier instead of "CTRL" modifier, in combination with "E" keybind obviously.
That's all. I will wait patiently if you can update your wonderful mod ;)
If you want to tinker yourself, you have to change "isKeyDown(Keyboard.KEY_LCONTROL)" in file JustEnterThatCar_Events.lua:107 (line 107) to the appropriate value. Since my development environment is not setup, I dont know, which is the correct value for ALT. Maybe Keyboard.LALT, but thats only guessed.
I am looking forward to implement the switch from CTRL to another key soon, but I can not promise, that the ALT+SHIFT combo will work.
Think if you enter the car from the passenger side and the mod let you automatically switch to the driver seat. But the window from the driver seat is broken and you got bitten through the window. Then the mod actually killed you. I think, it should always be a player action whether or not to switch the seat.
Or in multiplayer, when you only want to enter the passenger seat, since your buddy will enter the car soon and wants to drive. Then you would have to manually move back to the passenger seat, which would be annoying.
You can use a hotkey (i believe it was Y) to switch the seat easily.
I would like to use ALT/SHIFT + E combination to just stop pressing E and let the character run into the car, instead of use CTRL + E and then press ALT/SHIFT.
Hope you understand. Thanks for this option.
The day normies invited themselves into gaming culture is the day it started going downhill.
@Gefreiter Günther Thanks for taking the time out of your personal life to create a useful mod. I found this searching for a potential hotkey to help (auto?) loot, and came across this one. Will give it a try. I'm actually surprised at how few options I've seen so far. That makes your work even more valuable. Be easy...
