General Info

This is my first fishing boat for Captain_Cockerels Build Challenge India, to make a beginner base fishing boat, for <30k, it features systems like heading holds (2 modes) made by me, the boat is very stable (Can handle arctic waves at 100% without sinking), it is very fuel efficient, and easy to use. If you want a cheap money maker for early game, this is the boat for you!

In-Depth Description

This is a fishing boat spawnable in the beginner base for $23750. It also sports a 15 cylinder supercharged dual purpose engine. You may ask "What is a dual purpose engine?" the answer to this question is, it has 2 uses, as a main drive engine, and an APU at the same time. Once battery charge gets too low on the boat, the engine will automatically kick on and run at a pretty high RPS to recharge the battery, and will turn off once complete, or if you wish, whilst it is in the APU mode, you can start the engine like normal and can get going. I might optimize it further, or add a small generator to possibly make the vessel able to recharge other boats if would like to add it. It also has bilge pumps in the engine room in case any leakage occurs and you need to pump out water. As far as I know the boat also has all the correct marker lights ie: nav, mast, stern lights that it needs. It goes 11 knots at it's maximum speed, which may seem low, but keep in mind this fishing boat is purely meant for coastal fishing on a small scale. You can take it from the beginner coast guard, go to the little bay near the lighthouse to the west of the beginner base, fish until full, and sell at holt. This makes the boat a really good beginning fishing boat as it is inexpensive, cheap to run, and earns a lot of money for early game, and can be used just for fun as well if you want to do some small scale fishing. It also has a small anchor you can lift by hand and throw it overboard to anchor the boat when fishing, and it is light enough to pull back on board once you want to get going again. It is also very stable, as it can be capsized from a tsunami or big waves, and it will right itself fairly quickly, so do not panick if it does capsize. Overall I think this boat is a very beginner friendly vessel, that is easy to use and can get your career game rolling.

Important note: You can find the fishing rods in the engine room on the walls.

Go into the engine room to start the checklist, you can find the hatch to it outside on deck infront of the superstructure.

Operate Boat As Desired


Heading Holds

This Boat features 2 different types of heading holds. The "Lock Current Heading" mode and the "Desired Heading" Mode. As you may be able to tell, the button will lock your current heading, and the keypad is for you to input your desired heading (Any number but 0, 0 is off)


Crane Operation

Overall the crane is really simple to use. If you wish to open the fish access hatch, tie a rope onto it (Found in the sliding hatches near the crane) and unlock the crane hardpoint & unlock the hatch from the crane controls which is near the anchor resting area, and you can move the crane up or down to open/close the hatch. Once finished and you wish to close the hatch, just turn off the unlock hardpoint, and hatch buttons and lower the crane until everything clicks into place, you can detach the rope or keep it on if you wish, whichever works better.

Refueling Instructions

Attach a hose from gantry or other fuel source and start pumping (Pumper must have a pump as the fishing boat doesn't have an onboard fuel pump)

Updates

Added Generator and APU mode for the engine.
Found and fixed small issue with APU mode where it would still reset clutch even though APU mode wasn't active.
General Fixes and Improvements.

It's been updated. Now it has a gas and liquid relief valve to ensure no water gets into the engine.

Ok gotcha. IT actually might be smart for me to put a liquid relief valve on the air intake. I'll do that and update the vehicle.

update i got it working, turns out the air inlet was getting jammed with water when I spawned in

so im in a career mode i had one mod running the trawler mod, spawned it in at fishing village and followed the starting instructions and it would just crank. according to it has like 600ish fuel.

@Escendi, I'm not sure what you mean by that. you will have to elaborate on what you mean

@ThunderBlunder, can you tell me what you were doing up to when it when into the starting loop? Did you have enough diesel in the fuel tank? If you can provide a bit more information, i may be able to help. I will do some testing to see if i can reproduce it, if you can tell me what the steps to reproduce the issue, it will help me in testing.
