Zofingen

Description
The station is located on the Olten-Lucerne railway line and is the western terminus of the Zofingen-Wettingen railway line. In addition, the Olten-Bern railway line and the new Mattstetten-Rothrist line are connected by a connecting curve in the neighbouring municipality of Oftringen to the north. The station building of the railway station, which opened in 1856, is listed as a cultural asset of regional importance.

InterRegio trains run hourly on the Basel SBB - Olten - Lucerne route, alternating with hourly InterRegios from Bern via Zofingen to Lucerne. The service on the main line is supplemented by RegioExpress trains between Olten and Lucerne. The S-Bahn Aargau S29 Sursee - Zofingen - Olten - Aarau - Wildegg - Brugg - Turgi line will provide regional services with stops at all stations. The S28 line of the Aargau S-Bahn runs on the Zofingen - Lenzburg branch line.

The station has been recreated in Rail Route using original SBB plans and various sidings are also shown. The timetable of the passenger trains is the real timetable, only slightly adapted in places. However, the goods trains and empty trains are completely fictitious. The view in Rail Route corresponds approximately to that in the real signal box.

About the speeds: An attempt has been made here to give a slight indication of the real speeds, but this is only possible to a limited extent due to the insufficient selection of track speeds in Rail Route.
