Empire at War Remake: Submod - Projectile Speed 5x

Description
What is this?
A submod for Empire at War Remake 4.0 that make most projectile fly 5 times faster in space battles, make lasers and missiles alike have a slightly closer speed with what they should have, and a degraded version of speed 10x for better visual effects. Now they are FAST.

Expected results
+ Projectiles fly faster.
+ Reduced damage waste in battle because lasers reach their target faster.
+ Somewhat increased accuracy as target have shorter time to move away.
+ Improved performance due to less projectile exist at the same time?
- Decreased visual effects, with speed like this we can see fewer things.
- Disadvantage for fighters as accuracy increases.
- Some particle effects become funny.

@DrunkenVOS No, the CW holdouts submod added its own projectiles so this submod possibly will cause some units to shoot nothing.

@Commander-LVJ I think you are actually referring to how projectiles are working now in Remake 4.0, as missiles from starfighters do not go through shields while ship based concussion missiles, which are designated as anti-ship missiles, penetrates shields. After all, I'm sorry to say that I won't make that modification as you say, since that actually feels more inconsistent in my mind and Remake, perhaps even EAW as a whole, do not support this "shield upgrade" idea.

It's neat when there's consistency one way or the other isn't it?;D

My father made a really good point though that star wars has never been about the story, it's always been about the action\effects\theme\etc. hence the inconsistencies (shall I point out the literal giant in the room that most certainly is no moon:steamfacepalm:).:steamhappy:

In any case though, if only for the sake of the game\making sure that every weapon type has a use; (e.g. "lasers" being used to destroy physical things such as hulls etc., ion weaponry being primarily used to disable and take down shields, missiles being used primarily to deal with armoured vehicles fighters and corvettes, and proton weaponry being used to penetrate AT LEAST some\un-upgraded if not all shields) would you be willing to make a saubmod so that only proton based weaponry can penetrate shields?

@Commander-LVJ It is kinda true that captains in Star Wars have a tendency to let their particle shield off. Actually I'm pretty sure many of the authors actually forget the existence of particle shields, thus causing many classical scenes. But anyway the existence of shield types are recorded in wookieepedia with quite some detail, you may check it out if you want further information.

Interesting; remember the Malevolence though, bombers attacked it with it's shields up and were able to damage one of it's giant ion canons with their proton torpedoes...and again, proton weaponry being able to penetrate at least (most) shields could really be the only reason they would bother using them in the first place...

@Commander-LVJ As far as we know, there are two type of shielding: Ray Shield and Particle Shield. In short, ray shield blocks blaster bolts and particle shield blocks solid object. This is not affected by the warhead used by projectile, only by speed -- as we can see grenades goes through Droideka's shield at low speed in TCW, and Accuser's proton beam weapon is blocked by enemy shield.

While I know Start Wars has some..."inconsistencies" shall we say;) I (think) that there are at least 2 types of shielding, 1 that can be penetrated by proton based weaponry; and 1 that cannot, as can be seen in the clone wars series. In any case; from a functional standpoint;especially considering that the majority of them (probably because they would fizzle out otherwise) are really close range; would it not be logical\sensical for proton based weaponry to be able to penetrate at least (most) shielding?..otherwise what would be the point of them?..:steamfacepalm::swbftrooper::steamhappy:

@Wolfyclaws I checked the file of CW submod and found it added a lot of new projectile, which means this submod will be completely incompatible with CW faction submod.
