Description
DIY mages for new strategies

MOD OVERVIEW
The first mod of 2024 and my biggest project so far is finally finished. Like all my previous projects, everything here is the same as before, including custom models, custom skills, etc.

HERO OVERVIEW
Perhaps my most complex character, hakutaku is an ultimate solution for all your spellcasting needs. With a giant variety in terms of available options, they can be made into a very powerful support.
All hakutakus:
— can learn any magic lore (except for Heavens and Metal, since Cathay already has an access to them);
— can choose to resonate with a specific magic lore (except for Runic Magic), unlocking several passive abilities;
— can choose one cataclysm spell;
— have several custom abilities, both for supporting allies and hindering enemies;
— can survive in melee combat for some time, but require protection from allies.

Apart from being a choose-your-own mage, the hero is made with being used as an aura-based support/debuffer in mind. For the sake of making hakutakus somewhat balanced, they have several restrictions:
— No mounts to better suit their intended design and avoid the popular gimmick of having very fast mounted mage capable of destroying half the enemy army before it comes to you;
— Low survivability with no way to increase it by skills;
— Access to only one trait.

Overall, I hope this hero will be an exciting addition to your campaign.

KNOWN ISSUES
— Clipping.
— In hero recruitment screen, hakutakus may appear without traits. This is purely a visual bug, since the trait is actually there, but, for some reason, it's not displayed in UI. But since hero has only one trait, this should not be a big issue.

ADDITIONAL INFO
— Balancing this mod was an extremely difficult task due to the sheer amount of custom abilities, so please leave any feedback regarding over-/underpowered abilities.
— All magic lores should work fine, but in case they don't, please leave a comment, so that I can fix it.
— The hero uses an alchemist slot and thus is considered as one. Hakutakus are recruited from a custom building.
— Variant Selector is highly recommended.

When i recruit the unit for the 1st time it always show the wrong model and i have to use variant selector to change it right. Is there anything i can do to fix it ?

@Guvenoren that unfortunately is just most modding communities now, at least the larger ones. Just look at Nexus mods. The place is a cesspit of double standards. And woe betide any who foolishly check the steam forums for games like Baldur's Gate 3 or WH40k: Rogue Trader.

She looks beautiful. Would be a shame if someone were to butcher her and turn her into a gory bloody pile with her skull attached to a Khornate spike.
