Leonardo de Vinci once said, “Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” Over the centuries, poets have inspired visual artists to create imagery displaying emotion and summarizing the stories told in their poetry. Conversely, painters display emotion, political comment and humanity, which capture the imagination of the poet and are translated to the written word.
《Mount Corcoran》is an 1868 oil-on-canvas painting by German-American artist Albert Bierstadt which depicts a landscape scene of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California.
