G36C & G36K Overhaul

解説
This mod contains an updated G36C assault rifle with new model/animations as a replacement for the original G36C, and a G36K as a brand new tier 4 weapon for the Commando perk.

Both guns have no laser sight, no foregrip and a different reflex sight compared to the original one. Classic Barska sight is also included as an extra option. Both sights have custom mark/dot as well.

G36K penetration power was reduced compared to the G36C so that it doesn't shoot through zeds which is way better for proper zed time extensions. Armor piercing effect is still present though. It also has more vertical and horizontal recoil due to Mando's reduced recoil passive skill which used to make the original recoil non-existent.
G36C specs weren't changed in any way. The only difference gameplay wise is reload timings, but that's kinda whole point of this mod.

All the first-person, third-person and pickup models were replaced with the new ones. First-person animations were done from scratch specifically for this gun, third-person anims though were reused from FAL. FYI, the original G36C used third-person anim set from the AK12, so I came up with the idea of utilizing existing anims the same way, but this time with something that fits better. This approach didn't affect visuals that much and sped up the process quite a lot. And I was working on it since August 2023, so the time did matter. Overall turned out alright I think, but it's up to you to judge I guess.

For a better experience I recommend using my sound mod that includes G36 SFX, though it's not a mandatory at all. Feel free to use it if you like it, or use any other mods if you like them more. Just don't use this with the vanilla sounds for God's sake lmao.

Installing

The mod requires mutators that allow to add new weapons into the trader inventory in order for it to work, such as Custom Trader Inventory:
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2830826239
These are the lines that should be added into KFCTI.ini (_RDS suffix stands for Red Dot Sight variant):
[CTI.RemoveItems] Ball=False bHRG=False bDLC=False Item=KFGame.KFWeapDef_G36C [CTI.AddItems] Item=G36CV2.KFWeapDef_G36C_V2 Item=G36CV2.KFWeapDef_G36K Item=G36CV2.KFWeapDef_G36C_V2_RDS Item=G36CV2.KFWeapDef_G36K_RDS

Authorship

G36C & G36K models: MrBrightside (high-poly) Noodum[www.artstation.com] (low-poly);
G36C & G36K textures: Noodum[www.artstation.com] Domcha[www.artstation.com]
OKP-7 and Wave QD Suppressor are from Escape from Tarkov.
Barska Sight model: Odec3D.
All the first-person animations and compiling work were done by me.

Cheers.

I dont know if this was supposed to work on public, but it replaced shitty animations for G36C (the swat one) and its just perfection. Props to creator:Alberts:

It would be so cool if there's a way to replace the in-game g36 with this version while maintaining it's stats

Ye it is default Strasser, but I adjusted his arm textures so that they look more clean.
I can upload that version of them if you want.

Are you using default Anton in the screenshots ? Or some reskin ? Since i noticed his arms & hands don't have the grease on them.

Nah thanks, I don't play with ingame music anyway, and I do listen to KF1 music through Spotify while playing sometimes, so it's not a big deal for me.
Good to see it worked for you!
