What is a Fire & Ice?
The ‘Fire and Ice’ patterns refer to the Marble Fade patterns that are devoid of any yellow color and are almost entirely covered in red and blue.

There are a lot of Marble Fade patterns that can be considered to be ‘Fire & Ice’, but not all of them are equal in value or rarity. For instance, patterns that have a maximum amount of red are much rarer (and pricier) than patterns with equal amounts of blue and red.

It’s worth noting that the red and blue color combination should only be present on the play side (the side which faces the player in-game) of the knife and not the backside. Fire and Ice patterns are only possible for Karambit, Bayonet, Flip, and Gut Knives.

The types of CS2 knives which can show Fire and Ice skin patterns.

Butterfly
Bowie
Huntsman

Shadow Daggers
Navaja

Talon

These differences can affect the price of a knife substantially. This is best seen on the Talon Knife, where it’s impossible to find a pattern without at least a little bit of yellow on the blade. Due to the yellow, the Talon cannot have a full Fire and Ice pattern.

Karambit Fire & Ice
The ‘Fire & Ice’ Karambits are Marble Fade patterns that are entirely (or almost entirely) covered in red and blue, without any yellow inclusions. There are also several ‘Fake Fire & Ice’ patterns that are predominantly covered in red and blue but have noticeable amounts of yellow on their tip.

As the pattern shifts left to right yellow begins to be introduced at the tip. As soon as any hint of yellow/non-pure blue appears this is considered a max fake fire & ice. The rankings below show all pattern indexes that were available that are true fire & ice. At the end is a list of all what are considered to be max fakes and regular fakes.

Karambit Fire & Ice The 1st max Fire & Ice variant of the Karambit has the pattern Index of 412, with no trace of yellow on the play side. The max fake version of the karambit Fire & Ice has a pattern index of 441, with slight traces of yellow appearing near the handle.

“Fire & Ice” has several “Max” rates which vary from 10 (minimal amount of red) to 1 (maximum amount of red). Pattern variations with the “1st Max” rate are considered to be the most valuable. The less valuable pattern is “Fake F&I”, the tip of its blade is painted yellow.

Bayonet Fire & Ice
The appearance of Bayonet | Marble Fade highly depends on the pattern index. "Fire & Ice" is considered to be the rarest and the most expensive pattern variation. It is distinguished by the presence of only red and blue colors on the play side. "Fire & Ice" has several “Max” rates which vary from 7 (minimal amount of red) to 1 (maximum amount of red). Pattern variations with the “1st Max” rate are considered to be the most valuable. The less valuable pattern is "Fake Fire & Ice", which is distinguished by the presence of a small yellow area located on the play side close to the base of the blade. The most common pattern variation is "Tricolour", which has equal areas painted red, blue, and yellow.

Some players might prefer Bayonets with less red and more blue, while others might want one that is mixing red and consequently more valuable.

Flip knife Fire & Ice
The appearance of Flip Knife | Marble Fade highly depends on the pattern index. "Fire & Ice" is considered to be the rarest and the most valuable pattern variation. It is distinguished by the presence of only red and blue colors on the play side of the knife. "Fire & Ice" has several “Max” rates which vary from 4 (minimal amount of red) to 1 (maximum amount of red). Pattern variations with the “1st Max” rate are considered to be the most valuable. The less valuable pattern is "Fake F&I", which has a yellow area on the base of the blade. The most common pattern variation is "Tricolour", which has equal areas painted red, blue, and yellow.

The ‘Fire and Ice’ pattern on Marble Fade Flip Knives is incredibly rare, making it much more valuable than the usual designs. In fact, it is considered to be one of the rarest knife drops when unboxing cases, which explains why it fetches such a high price. The ‘Fake Fire & Ice’ patterns are more affordable but are still pricey nonetheless.

It is distinguished by the presence of only red and blue colors on the play side of the knife. "Fire & Ice" has several “Max” rates which vary from 7 (minimal amount of red) to 1 (maximum amount of red). Pattern variations with the “1st Max” rate are considered to be the most valuable. The less valuable pattern is "Fake F&I", which has a yellow area located on the hook. The most common pattern variation is "Tricolour", which has equal areas painted red, blue, and yellow.

Gut Knife Marble Fade is currently a rather popular skin, which is often seen in the game. And it is the most budget-friendly Fire & Ice knife. You can also find FFI with a small overprice.
