Description
This is a bonus mod that adds the race of creatures featured on all of my artwork in the Steam Workshop. The mod itself does not add any new genes, the xenotype uses materials from the Vanilla Races Expanded series. You don't have to subscribe to this mod, its purpose is to be a place where I upload pictures without captions for people who want to download them (I've been asked many times to share the sources, I decided to do it this way).

Short description
Kotik is a member of an artificially created race of warriors. Good in battle, but has many disadvantages in everyday life. Possesses the following genes:

super immunity, fast wound healing, aggressive, kill thirst, very sleepy, fertile, attractive, cat ears, roar voice, slate gray skin, strong stomach, robust digestion, dark vision, furskin, slow study, remarkable shooting, remarkable melee, territorial, short pregnancy, early maturity, feline tail, dutiful, pheromones, extreme cell instability, talons, pack mentality, severe skill loss.

If you have the Vanilla Factions Expanded - Pirates mod installed, the Kotiks will be added to the mercenary faction (it best fits the artistic description of the Kotiks).

Artistic Description
A race of Kotiks were bred centuries ago to fight wars on the planet Uyut. The state that created them urgently needed cheap, quickly replenishable "cannon fodder". Kotiks are good in battles, unpretentious, fertile and grow up quickly. Unfortunately, they were created in a hurry, which led to a large number of inborn genetic defects. The life of Kotiks is very short, and the psyche is unstable (in battle they are collected and do not experience nervous breakdowns, but at home they are aggressive, they are overcome by bloodlust). They sleep a lot, have a hard time assimilating new knowledge and forget it faster.
The creators didn't care - it was assumed that all Kotiks would forever remain on the battlefields. However, it happened in a different way. In the course of the war, the Uyut was destroyed. In the last hours of the planet's existence, the Kotiks turned their weapons against the creators, seized several ships, loaded their young on them and sent them into space in the hope that a better future awaited their children.
In part, those hopes were realized. Their species survived. As for a better future... Genetic defects have never been overcome. The Kotiks take everything in life, striving to die in glorious battle before the cruel diseases of old catch up with them. Perhaps this is why the Kotiks are considered some of the best mercenaries in the galaxy. But they are still considered an inferior race, fit only for battle. The Kotiks live in clans and trust only their own kin.

Rumor (not confirmed by anything, the Kotiks deny it):

"The official version says that the Kotiks are humans who were subjected to sinister experiments in an attempt to breed cheap, versatile soldiers. The genes of domestic cats were used extensively for this purpose. Cats were ideal for experimentation: born predators, agile, cautious, bloodthirsty, quick to breed and grow. And there were plenty of them, so there would be no shortage of genetic material.
But the truth is far worse. In fact, the experiments were conducted on cats that had been implanted with human genes! Their appearance and behavior is linked to this. Kotiks hide their origins because they already have a hard time living in a xenophobic world".

There is support for the "Vanilla Psycast Expanded - Biotech Integration" mod.

(As a reminder, all images are generated by the "Kandinsky"neural network. All I do is set the description of the image and choose the best variant from the provided ones).

Added an alternative version of the Kotiks origin to the description. It's a rumor that's been floating around the galaxy about them. It can be either true or fiction.

It's sad. But there's nothing I can do about it anyway. Using Alien Race Mod is not an option for me, the style of the images is also already established. I can offer you an alternative version of the origin of these creatures.

I completely and totally agree with that view. Talking housecats are better than Furries and Kekomimis, hands down!

That's also the problem to me , in that they are so divorced from men that it breaks immersion to call talking housecats "Xeno-Humans".

Yes, I understand. The reason for this appearance is very simple - it's prettier (in my opinion) than the obvious human-cat hybrids. I just never liked the concept of Furries - humans with some of the traits of animals (ears, tail, whiskers, but otherwise with a regular body). The style I'm using now seemed to be the best, most emotional. It's just my personal taste)))) But believe me, by my design, these are still people, even if they look a lot like straight-haired cats.

That's a fair argument. However, based on your PICTURES, they appeared to be housecats , not anthropomorphic Furries. That's why I found it odd for them to be Xeno-Humans.

The reason is the lore of the game's world. According to what the developer wrote, no other intelligent species were found in the mastered universe by the year 5000 (or they were all exterminated.). Only humans. That said, it is also said that many genetic variations of humans have formed over time (this was written before Biotech even existed). Artificially created "cat-humans" fit perfectly into this concept. Using the Alien Race Mod, on the other hand, would just break the immersion. We didn't have an alternative to Alien Race Mod until the last DLC was released, but now we do. And in my opinion, Biotech is better (much better). Also, I really don't see a fundamental difference between the xenotypes of "cat-humans" and "pig-humans" from the DLS. They're people who look like cats. But they are, without a doubt, humans. They walk on two legs, use hands (with claws, yes, but also with quite functional fingers), speak. It's a xenotype, not a separate race.

Why are these cats a Xenotype and not a Humanoid Alien Race Mod species? Xenotypes are supposed to be men at the end of the day, and breed accordingly, but these are just sapient cats. (Mind you, sapient cats that actually look like real housecats are based , but it's a bit immersion breaking to call them Xeno-Humans.)
