Description
Affiliation: ARTEMIS UNITED COALITION

Ship Series: ARTEMIS GEN 5 VIGIL

Ship Class: HEAVY DESTROYER

Registration #: 849

Ship Name: ELSEED

Designation: AUC-AG5-HDR-849 ELSEED

Part of the Gen 5 series, the Elseed is serves as part of the Wolf Pack 4 squadron. A detachment force that patrols Seria-01, a moon orbiting a dead planet just outside the green zone in Artemis. Seria-01 is home to one of the strategic sites held by the AUC in its defense of the inner system and serves as a staging point for military operations in the area.

Sporting a robust forward thrust and a notable offensive capability, the HDR currently operates as the primary force in the fight against Sol. Second in production only to the Heavy Frigate, the HDR carries a slightly larger crew, and a greater firepower potential. Equipped with 8 railguns in a tight cluster, and 8 turrets for cover fire, the HDR is able to gut most vessels with a well placed aim and bring down even cruisers on their own.

Standard docking mechanism allows the HDR to dock anywhere in Artemis able to accommodate its size. Internal furnishings allow for a crew up to 10 and double that number on a rotating shift if acting as a transport, as they are sometimes used for. On board medical facilities are sufficient to even address grievous injuries and access to vital components allows for repairs even under fire.

///// LORE \\\\\

The Elseed gained its name as the lead vessel in a 5 point squadron known as Wolf Pack 4. Taking charge during an SOR assault on the AUC controlled space over Seria-01. The group attempted to destroy key infrastructure in surprise straffing attacks to reduce AUC combat and repair capability. The attack ultimately failed thanks to the prompt and keen insight of the captain of the Elseed. While Wolf Pack 4 was outnumber 5 to 1, they efficient use of honed tactics and the more advanced technology allowed the squadron to fend off and destroy all combatants in the area. The doomed assault by SOR prompted a slight increase to the protection detail and now both Wolf Pack 4 and 7 are permanently stationed in orbit. The name was bestowed to the 849 by proxy from a visiting Commander who happened to be visiting the area at the time. It is unknown at this time if Commander (Name Redacted_CLASS) was the intended target or not.

Presently, the area patrolled by Wolf Packs 4 & 7 remains a hotbed for SOR activity and sees frequent action. Although the danger presented by the SOR has never reached Lv5 or higher, being assigned there means that you will regularly be on station and defending local assets.

Well then, guess I'll be looking forward to the results. I don't build meta so have fun with that lol.

Well Sev, I think this one earned the place for my first prototype upgraded warship on the next DS. I'm gonna be running the structural reinforcement mod with heavy armor. Combine with shields and some weapon upgrades, this one might hold up against WC Delta Rim Alliance ships. I let you know how it goes.

I think if you have weaponcore replacer it does the same thing even if it doesn't actually delete the stuff

I have run into this issue also. I don't build with mods. I can only assume that it is because I built it in a world with a skybox. I don't know what else it could be. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, heavy cruisers can function as flagships if needed.

I see, I see, thank ye, ill take this stuff into account when making my fleet battles. I'm guessing assault fleets are made up of cruisers with heavy cruisers as flagships?
Sevyrs  [author] 12 Jan @ 4:36pm
I should also note that there are approx 15 fleets in Artemis, 4 of which are held in constant reserve and rotated out regularly with active fleets.
Sevyrs  [author] 12 Jan @ 4:35pm
So most fleets in the AUC, specifically for ARDN, number around 130 ships of varying classes. Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Carriers, and associated smaller craft.

The fleets are further broken down into squadrons that range between 5 and 10 large craft.

It is important to note that a squadron composition is heavily dependent upon the function it will be tasked with. Simple patrols may be made up almost or entirely of Frigates and/or maybe a Destroyer, or one may be made up only of Destroyers for the purpose of dedicated strike and hunting maneuvers. Etc.

The AUC has, at thus point, had a few centuries of near constant fighting with hostile forces, including an outright invasion from. Sol to learn and develop tactics, advance technology, and employ to great effect, certain
experimental practices that has led to the AUC of today.

Hope this helps.
