The Amplexus (Latin for embrace), is a double face orbital waystation that is a common sight in Artemis over most planets, moon, and around the surrounding asteroid field surrounding Artemis; primarily in contested areas that frequently see combat.

Capable of docking a single Capital craft or two smaller large crafts in the main docking area , four separate docking points for utility craft on the exterior extensions, and four landing pads for travel oriented small craft; this station functions as both a repair bay, refuel/restock station for military vessels.

During wartime, most stations in restricted areas are required by law to function in a military capacity in that they prioritize military craft for repairs and more. When not in an affected area, the stations dotting the upper space often play a similar function for civilians passing through, operating as market/contract hubs, and rest points for weary travelers. This station, however, is designed to function almost exclusively for military craft. A tell sign is that the OWS often employed by the AUC are able to 'dock' with a similar station to create a large drydock area, creating a safe harbor to help shield docked and under repair/construction vessels.

Centrally placed merge units on the extensions connecting the two sides allow the stations to connect/break away as needed. Conveyor systems are not shared between the two segments to prevent total loss in case one side is critically damaged and are separated enough to avoid damage if one explodes.

Although no obvious walkway exists between the two, space walks are usually not an issue since these larger stations are typically situated further from the orbiting body to prevent strain on the superstructure when orbiting and thus preventing damage or unintended break away due to gravity.

Although no lore exists for this station worth mentioning, several of these facilities have been attacked, both by SOR and by Sol incursions over the years. A more notable example would be when the Endela OWS was struck by a hit and run strike by Sol during an incursion that left minimal damage and no loss of function. The small fighter craft used in the assault were destroyed by nearby patrolling Frigates before the nuclear payload they were escorting could be deployed. Generally, these facilities are well guarded given their importance in maintaining the fleet readiness.
