Description
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW IN ADVANCE:
Is this a release?
This is an open alpha test. The map is not finished and is under development.

What's included in version 0.25?
Currently the south-eastern part of the map is ready, which is approximately 25%. This includes the large capital city of Surovy, several smaller villages and towns, as well as factories, dachas, farms, forests and much more.
If you find any bugs, flying objects, or just want to help with development in general - write to the dedicated #dgch-feedback channel in our Discord: https://discord.gg/r3vV3AaAyj

What's with optimization?
This map is extremely detailed. If Livonia and Tanoa don't run well for you, you will most likely only be able to do beautiful screenshots. And regardless of computer or server specs - we recommend against the use of AI.

What is the main idea of the terrain?
Dogechnya is a collective image of the post-Soviet environment. Most of the east-European maps available on the Steam Workshop are created by Western modmakers, who only have a surface level idea of what this region of the world should look like. Most locations on our map are created based on real locations with the help of players from Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The main focus is post-soviet commieblock terrain with a very high density urban environment, which will give Arma players a new experience.

What mods are required?
We have completely abandoned CUP in favor for Livonian assets & RHSTERRACORE, whose developers we closely work with. We are also putting our own objects into a separate 'CIS Additional Items' mod so that any mapmakers can use them in their projects.

Where is Dogechnya and what is it?
In the 90s, during the parade of sovereignties, Chernarus gained independence and set a course for pursuing a policy of nationalization and language unification. As the result of this decision an anti-terrorist operation on the territory of the Dogechnya region began, in which the newly formed Chernarus Defense Forces (CDF) took part against Dogechen militias.
The armed conflict turned out to be protracted and difficult for the young country, so it was periodically frozen for several years,
after achieving certain goals.
The active phase of hostilities took place from 1993 to 1995 and from 2009 until 2013, where during Operation Red Harvest the Republic of Dogechnya came out in supported of the ChDKZ.
During the invasion of Southern Zagoria by the Russian Armed Forces in support of the "Red Star", the Dogechen militias took advantage of the outfolding situation and completed a number of successful military operations to seize their occupied territories. Chernarus was deeply bound in war on several fronts and at that time did not have sufficient funds and military power to continue hostilities, even with the support of the US Marine Corps.
Taking into account the growing socio-economic, as well as other geopolitical problems, the two parties to the conflict came to the decision to form a truce.

After the end of the active phase of hostilities in the region, with the support of Western countries, Chernarus was able to stabilize the economical situation and get out of the crisis as soon as possible. Nevertheless their foreign policy towards the unrecognized republic of Dogechnya worsened, although it gained relative peace for 15 years.
In accordance with the peace treaty, Chernarus entered into an agreement on the deployment of a limited peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Armed Forces in the disputed territories, with guarantees not to expand the republic any further.

CDF is carrying out military-technical rearmament of the army, replacing lost Soviet vehicles and equipment with new Western equivalents. Meanwhile the Chernarus government is working on reforms for improvement in relation towards the population of the separatist region: the opening of borders, a general amnesty for citizens of Chernarus who participated in acts of hostilities on the side of the Republic of Dogechnya, and benefits for citizens who cooperate with the the Chernarus Special Services.
Through the relative level of peace between the two republics, shelling of border cities and local border skirmishes continue.
Men on both sides understand that this is a fragile peace which will lead to even greater disasters...

What will be included in the next update:
  • Capital city expansion, improvement, and optimization
  • Hospital complex with new building from RHSTERRACORE
  • Border checkpoints, trenches, fortifications, and war-torn terrain on the border with Chernarus
  • Destroyed towns in the north-east

Even unfinished this has to be my favourite terrain for Arma 3. Vanilla Arma 3 terrains are outmatched by the level of detail shown in Dogechnya. Every property has large amounts of detail leading to them looking more realistic and lived in, to something as simple as the dirt tracks and gravel roads blending into each other, creating a seamless and connected look. I also appreciate the connection to Chernarus because Chernarus Redux is my second favourite terrain in Arma 3. I look forward to seeing the improvements you make to this terrain over time, and I eventually look forward to seeing the finished terrain in all of its glory. Awesome work!
