Description
Welcome to the Ultimate Budapest Experience!

Warning! This is a fixer-upper map, meaning that you will have to do a your own work to suit your taste (like expanding arterial roads) The basic route network can serve as a guide to build out your areas (their placement is almost always correct), however it's highly recommended that you upgrade your main arteries to double roads, so have Google Maps ready, and expect to use Alt+Tab a lot.

Recommended start in 1960.

Covers roughly 75km x 75km in real life, inbetween 1:4 to 1:3 ratio. I've found this the sweet spot, where you still get a lot of space to really build out your areas, however commute distances are still okay-ish (with the 4 hour limitation for citizens to commute). This means that someone from inner Budapest could still commute to the Mátyásföld Ikarus plant, just like in real life. Even at this size, the Deák tér-Lánchíd area will be quite crammed, however I didn't want to make Budapest any bigger than this.
You can also build out the Metro network (M2 and M3), perhaps replicating every second station. However I won't recommend metro M1 (Kisföldalatti) due to the limited space. There's a double Metro station mod on the Workshop which I've haven't tried, but should work well for Deák Ferenc tér. On Moszkva tér, I've the built the triangle big enough to house both the default Metro station, and have space for tramstops, too. If you're also populating the villages too, it's worth building out Volánbusz stations as well (Népliget, Árpádhíd, etc) and HÉV.

Very highly recommended mods:
-EVERYTHING by Norch, especially the Old Downtown packages, to make an epic looking Budapest inner city, whilst covering everything with decorative asphalt pavement! I'd love to see screenshots of that, the map certainly lends itself for it. The pack also contains schools, shops, etc, so you can have a very unified look.
-Деревня | Village mod by dimndroll, as it gives you full village streets, to build out your villages quickly (if you want to populate villages).
-Балтийский вокзал [Без надписей]/ St. Petersburg-Baltiysky railway station [unmarked] - for Nyugati and Keleti railway station you can use the Medium size, they just fit very nicely (City 17 station from Half-Life is not recommended, as it's too big in relation to everything else, however if you really want, you can still shoe-horn it in, however I've found it too dominating)
-Vehicle production line and Train production line by robs074, for Ikarus and Ganz-MÁVAG seperately (with Ganz-MÁVAG, the factory to rail connection will not be in it's real place, but will mostly work)
-Long Rail Distribution Office from DirrrtyDirk's Workshop. Perhaps use the 500 meter version for Ferencváros Rendezőpályaudvar.
-Marktdreieck Waiblingen by equinox.nova perhaps for Skála-Metró, as it mostly looks similar.
-Mechanical components factories from Kollati's Workshop for Ferroglbous, as Ferroglobus really dominates the landscape, even from space. You can find it as Thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary Zrt. if you're looking on Google maps. Rail connection should also fit.
-Stadium from painkillerlexar's Workshop for Népstadion (will fit very nicely)

-Perhaps starting with Weiss-Manfréd (Csepel Művek) is a good idea (either a double Steel mill from pascha.frolow1990 or a single Huge Steel Mill from -HoE- Shizo's Workshop. Also, the Olajfinomító at Százhalombatta can be an early major industry.

Ideas what to build (you can possibly have 4 times as much, use Wikipedia)

I hope this map will give you joy! Due to my limited free time, I won't be doing ANY alterations, or giving tutorials to people on how to do so. Please use cheat mode with terrain editor to get to your desired outcome. Most trees were removed from roads, however my fingers are now hurting.

I've just finished building this map in the editor, and haven't playtested it due to my limited free time available, but everything should work. Please try to keep the comments in English if possible, so everyone understands (hence no Hungarian description - Google Translate is your friend).

Hali! Szandekos - netes keresgeles utan nem talaltam mas nyersanyagot a kornyeken (max kobanyakat, ami nincs a jatekban), ugyhogy szerintem igy valos - viszont nehezebb is. Ellenben cheat segitsegevel festhetsz a terkepre.

Yes, only coal is available as natural resource, as I haven't found anything else during my short research (albeit this makes the map harder to play). You can use cheats to paint more resources on the map.

c1MKEvBZ I've loosely overpainted the vector data that I've took from tangrams heighmapper, so yes, definitely guided.
