Hei's Psystaffs

Description
An incredibly simple mod I created in my free time for a personal save, it adds one simple, easy to craft psystaff. Using Athena framework it scales damage based on users psychic sensitivity and targets psychic sensitivity. So it can scale from pretty weak to pretty strong depending on the user and target's sensitivity.

The anima staff is a beam weapon, from biotech

Crafting the weapon requires a research project of 1000 to be completed, and then 14 crafting skill and 75 wood. If I touch on it at a later date the skill will be lowered and an exclusive pearl of sorts will replace it, for now the skill need is to comp for a lack of a "special" item


Its not a complex or deeply tested mod, it just fills the urge I had for magic sci-fi tribals. I intend to expand on it at a later date, adding different staffs with different functions and tech levels, at the moment there is only a tribal one.

Sure. There were some plans for future updates, it would be tech based so as you advanced from tribal to spacer it would scale less on psy sensitivity and focus more on a base damage. I might even integrate some of VFE's options to allow different attacks.

But generally speaking I've tapped out of modding for a while, most things I do are small personal projects like this.

i think id like this a lot more if it was more just scaling on your own sensitivity and the beam attack isnt really reliable enough for me to use this but maybe if i was playing a medieval full convert it would be better

dude in the mod Vanilla Pshicast Expendit is a psycast that creates superheated pearls. They are useless but with your mod they can get value

I'm all for making psy-related things, as I love playing a psychic tribe or psycast heavy colonies. I'd fully support a psyshield belt as it was on the list of things I'd want from a big commissioned mod but yknow... warhammer 40k minis took over that cashflow.

The ability to scale psy weapons that scale damage comes from Athena Framework, so most of the credit goes to the team there. They also made "Eltex Weaponry" if you want more scaling weapons!

I do like the idea of making a shield belt that scales with psy, I'm not sure if the framework supports it, but I may give it a shot on making it myself if I get some free time.

i always found psi strength to be underutilized. Even force weapons from other mods didnt capitalize on it when they claimed to. Thank you for making my thoughts reality. Ever thought about a full weapons and armor set that scales off psi strength? I know that it has never been done successfully and would love to see it done well.

Looks like it would integrate quite nicely with the Elder's faction, too...
