Description
It's a very simple mod about a hidden feature on L4D2. I'm sure that almost all people ever wondered about something like "Why can't I have manual aim for weapons other than snipers here, like how other fps games can do?". This feature is actually available on the netprops, but probably for certain reasons, this wasn't implemented on guns other than snipers.

So, with this mod, you can manually aim your guns like how some other fps games do.

There are some custom mechanisms that are slightly different from those on snipers & sg552:
- 3 Zoom Modes: You can zoom 3 times (sg552 zoom, sniper zoom, & slightly farther than sniper zoom). This can be modified via cfg file in case if you want to make it less than 3 zoom modes or even just zoom once.
- Aim Resistance: Aim won't be cancelled when getting hit by zombie or taking damage during aiming.
- All Guns Can Aim: All guns except snipers & sg552 can aim. Even pistols can aim.
- Increased Accurasy When Aiming: This is actually default L4D2 when aiming. The accuracy gets closer to when using lasersight.
- Alternative Mechanisms for Aiming: There are two ways to aim:
1. Press AIM/ SCOPE button like how you use sniper scope.There's 1 second of cooldown on each zoom mode.
2. Hold TAB & then shoot. This is an alternative if the first method is bugged by unknown causes on certain custom campaigns. This has a slightly different zoom mechanism. 1st shot is sg552 zoom, then as player keeps shooting while holding TAB, the zoom gets slightly farther & farther. & shotguns only have 1x zoom on this alternative. Release TAB if you don't want to zoom in farther again.

Available Features in "scope on all guns.cfg.txt" file:
  1. Scope Zoom Mode: Mainly there are 5 zoom modes, with additional 4 modes with bonus features of "Temporary Laser Sight When Aiming". See the info in the cfg files for the details.
  2. Scope Zoom Cooldown: This feature allows players to set the scope cooldown on each use. The default is 1 second. The value can be in decimals, with 0.2 for the minimum value & no limit for the max value.

With this mod, you can start to experience what it feels like to aim a gun other than snipers & sg552. Have fun in doing more headshots with this manual aim feature.

@val_orrr , last update was June 2024, so I didn't change anything until now. Probably there were some mod conflicts in your case. You can try to disable all except this mod to check whether it works properly or not.

not really sure what I am doing wrong, but previously this mod worked fine for me.. now it won't generate the .cfg file so it's essentially useless.

i'hear bullet come out shotgun after zoom same time i'didn't hear shotgun firing first

@ Poolsup (TH) , there's this on the description: "2. Hold TAB & then shoot. This is an alternative if the first method is bugged by unknown causes on certain custom campaigns.". It's not a bug but just an alternative way to use Zoom/ Scope.

@Narco , unfortunately I still can't find any clues about how to keep the viewmodels like that on sg552 scope.

yeah, mode 5 was single zoom but for Sg552 zoom only, i'm personally need the single zoom but for "slightly farther than sniper zoom"

@ Airuz , for the zoom type that zooms when holding Zoom button & releases zoom when releasing Zoom button, that's already available when you set "Scope Zoom Mode" to 5.
