Description
Flakpanzer Gepard

Battlerating: 11.3

This is the Flakpanzer Gepard used by the ROAF, a spaa that can track helicopters and low/slow flying aircraft and dispose them, sadly the gun has a range of 1.4km, but you get 4 stinger air to air missiles that can hit targets up to 3km however their lock is at 2.2km. It has 3 crew: driver / radio / gunner. Can be 90% repaired. 1:1 Recreation

Stats:
-80kph max speed
-5666l of fuel
-Decent armor
-4 air to air missiles
-2 rotary autocannons

Guide:
-Just don't pitch up / down when u got a solid lock and you didn't disable leading.
-First get a pitch lock then activate Yaw Track.
-On turbo mode you can flip if you drive fast and turn left/right.

Track explained
-Automated track, tracks the target on pitch and yaw (if you select it).
-Manual, you have full control on the pitch and yaw of the radar.

==On both modes the gun is radar assisted not manual aimed like on ground mode==

History

The Gepard was developed from 1963 onward. In 1969, construction began of four A prototypes testing both 30 and 35 mm guns. In June 1970, it was decided to use the 35 mm type. In 1971, twelve second phase B prototypes were ordered. In 1971 the Dutch army ordered a CA preseries of five vehicles based on a parallel development that had used a West German 0-series Leopard 1 vehicle made available by the West German government in March 1970 as the C-prototype.

Since the 1980s, Redeye and later Stinger MANPADS teams have been accompanying the Gepard units to take advantage of their long-range scanning capacity. To combine this capacity in a single unit, a missile system upgrade that mounts the Stingers in twin packs to the autocannons was developed. The system was tested by the German Bundeswehr but not bought due to budget restrictions. Instead, the Ozelot Light Air Defence System (LeFlaSys) was fielded for the three Airborne Brigades.

Units in Romanian Army: 36 units + 7 for spare parts

Switched it back to compact pivots for better MP experience

Just tested again, the radar camera unit on the front seems to spin erratically and as the gunner you cannot see what you are looking at.

So rn it uses velocity pivot not a compact one, I also added a key to switch radars from large to small, small can be better to track targets while there are multiple targets but large is better to for getting lock. Vertical leading off results to a more compact velocity feeling of track like before. Please give me feedback lol (No more need to adjust track you just center the lock to the middle of the screen)

Aah that makes more sense!

Nah it's the same main tracking the only thing changed is when you get a first lock the turret doesn't lock but moves after the target and then a switchbox changes the rotation to the main microcontroller.

Has the tracking system been reverted to how it was previously? it does seem to have changed, maybe a little less accurate however it does work well enough to get on target!
