No Roof Collapse

Description
This mod prevents all roof collapses allowing for safer mining, larger rooms without supports and roofs hovering mysteriously in the air. It affects both natural roofs and constructed roofs.

Compatibility: This mod should be compatible with everything other than mods that specifically rely on roof collapse as a mechanic. It has been reported it is NOT compatible with Raise the Roof.

Safe to install mid-save? Yes.

Safe to remove mid-save? Yes, but roofs will remain un-collapsed until something changes near them (remove a wall, remove a piece of roof, mine rock, etc) to trigger a collapse.

How many times did you re-check the number of Ls in "Collapse" to avoid a repeat of the "Alligned Turbines" incident? Far too many.

I've had a look through the code and I think I've found a good way to block roof collapsing at a lower level that should catch some of the collapse conditions sneaking but. I'll give that a test and should have an updated version out soon.

just installed - roofs are still collapsing when using the remove roof zone tool because the AI will remove roof tiles in silly orders.

weird, i wonder what mod is causing it, because at one point i had only 'drop at edge' enabled, but all pods were still being scattered.
something that might help is that i did use map designer to make a map witch is mostly mountain, maybe the game is throwing a fit because there's not enough unrooved tiles, even though i changed the map over my playtime to have more 'open' space than when i started.

@Dragoneer I wasn't able to reproduce the issue (drop pods are never crashing through thick mountain roofs when using unmodded rimworld for me) but I am going to see if I can find any other code-path that leads to roof collapse that can be disabled.

dang, i have tried a number of mods, and i was hoping this one could be my fix.
i have a base under a mountain, but i hate how, when drop pods land on thick roof, it forces a collapse, i had to disable all drop pod raids, which i dislike because i would welcome the challenge of enemies dropping behind my defensive lines, so long as several places in my base don't get caved in.
i dont get why drop pods on thick rooves force a collapse but mortar shots don't?
anyway, even with disabling all drop pod raids, when summoning the mechanitor bosses, they still
randomly scatter and cave in multiple places on my base, is there a way for you to disable the drop pod cave-ins? every part of my base has proper supports so natural cave-ins wont happen.

I was thinking about using invisible collumns, sadly that one is not updated yet. Your mod will do the trick too, thanks for keeping it updated!

No, oddly I have mods that I installed afterwards to try to stop this. I'm pretty sure it's just vanilla but it also only happens when the raiders do the scattered drop. All cluster drops are super precise and don't do it. I've even had this happen when calling in allied factions for immediate support but again they are fine unless they do the raid "Random drop" maybe that is added unlisted from a mod like Vanilla Expanded or something.

@Sir Val von Ra I've not been able to reproduce that issue at all - for me raiders will never drop pod through thick rock ceilings , and when they drop through normal ceilings with supports removed they are are not triggering collapses. Do you have any other mods installed related to ceilings (ceiling removal, constructed mountain ceilings) or that allow raiders to punch through mountain ceilings?

I appreciate it. I used the dev mod and just deleted them and didn't need to spawn in supports w/this mod for anyone else looking for the best fix. I tried many mods but this is the only one that helps with raids and collapsing in any means.

I'll try to reproduce and fix that, in the meantime build some supports nearby before fixing up the damage.
