I will test this scenario out. It doesn't sound like a major issue since this is just one more case of AI stupidity on top of many many others, and if their attacking formation is already basically dead, having it losing a few more times doesn't really hurt the attackers any.
They will still get pushed out eventually though, the "clear mechanism" you mentioned, its just it will have do 10 times more battles than usual. This mod only nerfs defensive recapture, it doesn't remove it.
One issue I've run into is that this also reduces defensive recapture during naval invasion. This means that naval invasion progress basically never gets reduced. Since a naval invasion only gets gets cancelled after three failed attacks at 0% progress, there's no longer a clear mechanism by which a naval invasaion can get cancelled after it has won a battle. This isn't much of a problem for the player, since we can just manually cancel if we see this isn't going anywhere, but the AI seems unable to do so and can get stuck naval invading a place with a near-dead army if it manages to win a single battle.
Please keep the 90% for defensive battles as long as the devs won't introduce counter-offensives. If you want to recapture / occupy land then send offensive armies (like it was before 1.5).
did you notice them losing offensive battles still?
You have to consider the fact that losing an offensive makes less and less sense as warfare evolves into trench warfare.
That said, i'm considering upping it to 25% right now, ill give it another day before committing
