Historical Units

Description
The Historical Units mod aims to bring a new layer of strategic depth to Victoria 3 by differentiating between the various military doctrines that shaped the 19th and early 20th centuries. This mod introduces several new infantry, artillery, and support unit types, each meant to reflect the different combat doctrines of the era.

Build your armies based on historical doctrines, from the aggressive shock columns of the mid-century to the shock and awe of Blitzkrieg. Experience the evolution of warfare through events that challenge you to adapt your nation's military philosophy in response to the shifting tides of technology and geopolitics. Will you embrace the adaptive strategies of Clausewitzian and Auftragstaktik doctrines, or will you stand firm with the methodical set-piece battles inspired by Jomini?

There is much to still tweak, especially balance-wise. I'm hoping to flesh things out further as well with more decisions and events to make each playthrough's military feel unique.

Credit to Zwei833 for his help and for allowing me to integrate the German Unit Models Pack.

Something odd about the rifle artillery, how they refuse to upgrade because it forces me to delete the whole unit.

Great mod! Good to see some modding effort on adding new unit type. However, I should remind you that if you added new combat_unit_type in 00_combat_unit_types.txt, you also need to modify files in following folders in order to make unit models appear on map properly:

gfx\map\army_dioramas
gfx\map\front_entities
gfx\map\spline_network\military_route_graphics
