tl;dr
This mod adds the various accented-English voices from the unnamed operators in CS:GO.

Overview
Are you overwhelmed by the majority of American accented English voice mods?
Do you want more accented voices that don't already belong to named characters?
Well that's the goal of this mod.

The number of lines per voice can greatly vary, but it averages out to ~287 per voice. Exact numbers listed below.
Voice Patcher support, get it >here<.
Available for normal soldiers and Reapers. Other faction heroes are supported but they must be enabled in the config.
The voices can randomly appear on normal soldiers.
Radio filter not applied because they already have one. There is 1 exception to this.
Voices unaffected by attitudes.
Cooked.

The following is a list of the voices that are in this mod. The naming format here is accurate to how they are labelled in the customization menu.

This mod's primary goal was to add more professional quality soldier voices with regional accents for the English language as this game is severely lacking in those.

The voices can randomly appear on soldiers whose nationality has a voice language in the game. (i.e. French soldiers can get French accented English, Germans can get German accented English). I don't think this applies to soldiers whose nationality doesn't have its language in the base-game (Russian, Hebrew, etc.), but I still set the templates in the ini to their languages. This also assumes you are using the option for soldiers to use their native speech in the settings, if you don't, then everyone just uses American English anyway.

Also, this mod does NOT contain voices used only by singular specific characters. This doesn't just mean the master agents, there are a couple other voices in CS:GO that are only used by specific character identities.

Considering this community has always been starved for more accented English voices, I always kind of wondered why no one decided to do the CS:GO voices before now, considering how easy it is to extract assets from source engine games.

EDIT: Okay, so it turns out that some of the voices actually have been done before many years ago, and I just was negligent. SAS was done before in >this mod<, and misc terrorist voices were done in >this mod<. The number of lines the voices use is only about half of what is in this mod though. Plus, they aren't cooked and don't support Voice Patcher.


Q&A:
Why none of the generic American Voices?
Mod specialization. Adding the voices would further bloat the menus for additions that people might not even care about considering the plethora of American voices already in the game. Plus, adding those voices probably would have added like a year or two to this mods development time and this mod already took like 2-3 years to make.

So what generic voices are excluded?
Generic unnamed American agent voices that are excluded are listed below:
American English | FBI

American English | Seal Diver 3

American English | Anarchist
American English | Professional (Male & Female)
American English | Phoenix Heavy

Why no master agent voices?
Again, mod specialization and development time. This mod is also focused on the addition of voices that don't belong to singular specific characters. I've noticed that I seem to have this mental aversion to using voices of named characters on generic soldiers. Hypothetically, say I've got a Mexican soldier and a Rico Rodriquez voicepack, even though Rico has a Mexican accent, it just doesn't feel right using the voice on some random guy. Not sure if anyone can relate to this.

What agent voices are excluded?
All of them, but I'll list them out anyway. The label next to the names is what the voices are labelled as in the game files of CS:GO:

Will you ever do any of the aforementioned voices in the future?
Probably not, if I'm being honest. There is a slight chance I'll do one or two of the master agent voices in standalone mods, likely Darryl and/or Romanov. For the most part though, I don't actually play Counter Strike, so I'd probably only consider it if there was a bunch of demand. Anyone else that feels like doing these voices are more than welcome to.

Why is the mod called CS:GO Voices instead of CS2 Voices?
For one thing, the lines were extracted when it was still called CS:GO. For another, when I looked in the game files for CS2, the Phoenix Co-op voices from the PvE mode seemed to be completely missing. Combining that with the fact that the majority of this mods development time was when it was called CS:GO, I just decided to keep it as the name.

Is this an attack on American voice acting?
Putting aside the question of how a person can even come to that conclusion, I am American myself. So no, this mod is by no means intended to demean American voice acting at all, it just all starts to sound samey when everyone says things in exactly the same way. Especially considering the saturation of American accented English voices in this game. Another thing I don't particularly like is how every soldier voice in the vanilla game has the exact same script and dialogue, so there's no UK or Australian slang to go with the accents. Not to mention, everyone sounding like they're American pretty much invalidates the soldier nationality customization. Sure, there are other languages in the default game, but they only cover 5 basic languages, and I like to understand what my soldiers are saying.

Why do you feel the need to add really long Q&As for your voice mods?
Maybe because I don't like going out of my way to answer simple questions in the comments. Or maybe I spend way too much time questioning my own thought process. I wonder if that's healthy.

This is a great mod. Thank you. I always thought that, while it's cool to give everyone their own voice that goes with the country they are from, it is weird that a squad would all be speaking different languages. Assuming that English is the language Xcom is using, it makes a lot more sense to have people just speak English with an accent.

@Dire Wombat In the AML, you have to go to the options to 'unhide' regular XCOM 2. It's under the User interface options. If it still doesn't work, I'm afraid there's not much else I can do.

Also, while I do agree it can be frustrating to having every soldier speaking American English, I can definitely see (from a game production standpoint) why they didn't add more. Having to hire VAs for every regional accent on the planet would probably cut into the development budget like nothing else.

Unfortunately no, the MEC English Redux voices also don't play in vanilla.
Also when I installed the Alternative Mod Launcher, it only gives me the option to launch either WotC or Chimera Squad - vanilla does not appear as a selection.

Bummer! This mod is exactly what I was looking for, maybe someday I'll do a WotC playthru to experience it. It's very odd the base game didn't include better voices.

@Dire Wombat I should say that this mod was built with the WotC SDK. I did this because I was having issues cooking mods on the base-game SDK and thought it would work fine with both versions of the game. The problem you mentioned might be a side-effect of it being cooked with the WotC SDK. However, to be sure, I would do two things:
1. Check if the same thing happens with my other mod 'MEC English Redux'. That mod was also built and cooked with the WotC SDK.
2. Use the Alternative Mod Launcher. It handles mods that were built for specific versions better than the 2K Launcher.

If the same thing happens with the other mod, and AML doesn't change anything, I'll have to list this mod as WotC only.

Does the Preview button work if you click it a couple of times? I seem to remember times when it didn't work but just on the first click.

I don't use that one.

To clarify, the listings appear in the voice selection menu. But they don't play when I preview. The other odd thing is that the source icon to the left of each language name is a broken image. Almost seems like a pathing issue but no idea where I'd fix that.

Just FYI - the voices don't seem to work in vanilla, only WotC. Anyone know any tricks to get it working for a vanilla playthru?
