Backup Power (Updated)

Description
An update to Fluffy's brilliant Backup Power mod. This version fixes an issue with Vanilla Helixien Gas Expanded wherein generators will not turn back on when battery levels deplete below the set level. Additionally, this version comes with a new gizmo on the backup box to enable or disable the box from running, in case you want to temporarily take manual control.

----------

Add control units to generators to automatically switch them on and off when needed

Features

Adds generator control boxes, which will automatically turn the generators they are attached to on and off depending on current power levels.

Control boxes can be built after researching Backup Power, a follow-up to Microelectronics. Once researched, build a power control box on top of any generator to have it automatically toggled on/off depending on the electrical grid's supply and demand.

Should work on any power generator that has the 'flickable' tag, so any vanilla or modded power producer that can be toggled on and off.

Control boxes have an indicator light that can take three colours:

- blue: control box is in standby, the generator is not currently needed.
- green: control box is active, the generator is running.
- red: control box error, the generator can not run.

This updated version fixes a bug with Helixien gas powered generators that were causing them to not resume after stopping. Additionally, this version adds a new toggle to enable or disable the backup control box.

Known Issues

None (yet).

Any chance of adding gizmos to adjust the power levels like heaters/coolers have? The two sliders wedged into one button are awfully fiddly.

possibly similar to @Bloop, I started getting some problems with unpausing when I added this mod and built the control boxes on industrial chemfuel generators from VPE. I haven't noticed any noises, and the unpausing seems to be mainly when I start the game—I have Rimworld set to start the game paused after loading.

the unpause problem I get is that it can take anywhere from several seconds to half a minute for the game to start moving after I unpause. before unpausing, I can move around the map, select buildings and pawns and other objects, make blueprints or deconstruction orders, prioritize pawn tasks, etc. But once I unpause, the game is completely frozen for an arbitrary period of time, can't even scroll around. then the problems are over and I can play normally.

unlike Bloop's report, I find that deconstructing the control boxes and then saving, quitting, and relaunching will restore normal startup behavior—no hanging at all when I unpause.

It would be perfect if you could link them like shelves

Im having a strange issue when pausing and unpausing. There's an odd noise thats generated when I pause or unpause that comes from the control boxes. I have them placed on Vanilla Expanded Industrial chemfuel generators. It seems mostly harmless but its just odd

Can we get a thumbnail update to show the mod features? The abstract art is nice and all, but I'd like to see what comes with the mod.

Sounds like a feature to me :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

You left "Hello world" debug warning messages in your options menu.
While you steal the mod, you can replace the thumbnail of the mod to show what it actually does.
