Description




Hello Everyone!

  • This mod expands and refines the tactical aspects of Hearts of Iron IV by adding many new tactics (More than 45 !) and four additional combat stages, (including city outskirts, urban warfare, secure city and seize fort). While urban warfare has been a significant focus, this overhaul ensures that various combat scenarios are more engaging and challenging across the board.

  • I’ve improved some vanilla in-game tactics, making them more realistic, balanced, and worth picking (mainly Relentless assault and Infiltration Assault). There’s more in the pipeline, so expect further enhancements to enrich your strategic options.

  • To add more depth, I’ve also introduced doctrine-specific tactics that utilize a system of tech-based trigger events, ensuring maximum compatibility with other mods. This provides a broader and more dynamic tactical experience. You can check how these are unlocked here [docs.google.com]



Please note that while this mod is compatible with many others, it may not work well with mods that overhaul or replace vanilla tactics, like MD.

Also since the terrain/combat width changes have been reverted, this mod has even greater compatibility now ! (for example, Kaiserredux is now finally compatible).

I played EAW. It was one of Hippogriffia's islands. I already deleted the save, but it's either fort or coastal that change battle phase to fort-one, similar to city-one. The main issue is that it reduces combat width of the battle by reducing Tactics combat width
Maybe the issue is that i play with the other mod, that can change tactics every 6 hours, and with this changes to the combat width - divisions can't reinforce fast enough and this issue occures.
Or problem may be with Fort Phase of a battle that changes combat width, so 3 resolutions for this may be: forts on island make battles on them a bit random;
not combining two mods "Combat" and "Tactical Warfare"
or just removing or reducing modifier for Tactics combat width of Fort Phase(also, maybe in Fort Phase battle two sides reduces combat width simultaneously because of a Fort-Attack and Fort-Defend tactics, so making Tactics combat width modifier a bit less would improve it, but i'm not sure how it works)

Not sure if this is intended...
Invanding an island with a fort makes it easier for attacker to capture it, because of a constant reduction of combat width during the fight, in which attacker have chance to reinforce meme the defenders, even if you manage to stack 15 divisions on an island: If one division lose when combat width is low - the rest is gone and battle ends.
