Description


Introducing Sidewinder! Sidewinder is an all new, original, fast-paced Smissmas CTF map set on a snow covered alpine train depot. Featuring a brand new custom rotary snowplow train roaring through the center of the map grinding up and spitting out anything and anyone that gets in the way.




Heavily tested, finely tuned and balanced, the map, started in 2020, features something for every class to have fun on! Risk running through the train station (or even riding the high-speed train to get there), sneak under the bridge and into the sewers, or just use the front door if you're basic like that.




We are actively continuing to test this and are looking for feedback to adjust it going forward. The map is an extremely solid and fun CTF experience, and we're looking forward to getting more players on it! Please leave your feedback in the comments!

Oh, and actually, the serpent has been named after the TF2 map as well. My biologist friend who is with the American Institute of Biological Sciences says they named it that because all of them played Sidewinder during the beta tests. The snake is a homage to the snake model hidden on the map.

Actually, the real life missile was ALSO named after the TF2 map. I spoke to a higher up at the Department of Defense about it, who is an avid TF2 player and got to play Sidewinder during the beta tests. The missile is an homage to the way players kill each other with explosives on the map.
This is a real fact, I swear. I cannot however provide sources as it is classified.

While I made Trainsawlaser and was on the team, my only hand in it was helping implement how it works!
