Description
TBD Mortars
This addon is meant to rework the way mortars work, and to try to bring them a bit closer to reality.

New models have been created for ammo boxes and shells, in order to try and mimic their real life counterparts.
The addon forces the operators to manually pick up individual mortar shells out of their respective boxes, and to manually load them into the mortar itself by interacting with the barrel of the mortar. In order to load the shell, the shell has to be within the player´s inventory, or in close proximity to the barrel of the mortar.

The shells themselves are physically present in their ammo box, instead of only being inside of the box´s "inventory space". Various types of shells (HE-frag, smoke and flare) can be freely combined inside the ammo boxes for transportation

ACE ammunition handling is not to be used.

How to:
Spawn 81/82mm boxes containing the ammunition.
Use ACE interaction menu to take off/put on the caps.
Use ACE interaction menu to take the shells out of/put in the box. Shells are added into the players inventory if there's enough space, or they are placed on the ground.
Use ACE interaction menu to load/unload the shells into/from the mortar.
Be immersed.

Use CBA addon settings to change the loading/unloading time

Currently supported:
81mm boxes and shells - M252 from RHS, M29 from SOG
82mm boxes and shells - 2b14 from RHS, Type53 from SOG, 2B9
105mm boxes and shells - M119A3
120mm boxes and shells - 120-PM-43
100mm boxes and shells - MT-12 Rapira

Planned additions:
More mortars support.

GitHub[github.com] source code.

This addon is made by the TBD Team - mainly inteded to be used in the TBD Event[tbdevent.eu], but will work just fine for everyone.

This addon is provided under the CUP[www.cup-arma3.org] license. You may not reupload this addon or it's parts to steam workshop or any other public repository. You may, however, create your own patch addons.

I see. That's there mainly to ensure that leftover stuff from vanila/rhs/other mods isn't intefering with the workings of this mod.

Okay. I bring it up because I thought I could make the MT-12 more "AI-usable" by scripting in a bunch of ammo into the gun itself, kind of like what SOG does with the D-44, only to watch said rounds vanish into the void upon firing once.

@Moloti
It is not, intended feature to empty the mortar of anything that might have been in it
Moloti 23 May @ 8:22am
I presume the force-emptying of any ammo in the tube after firing one round/salvo isn't a mistake.

Well here's a health to you, Boss, and may we see more awesome artillery examples, fingers crossed on more WW2 pieces. And I hope to see if you tackle the challenge of Flak guns later on!

@keegen751 if by all in one you mean this and all our other mortar mods, the chance is zero. There's no benefit to it. Load times are the same, performance is the same, nothing changes as far as working goes.
The only thing that would change is me having to manually assemble all build pbos, manually sign them and then release it. Then we would have people reporting issues of double definitions etc in rpts, because they load all in one and then some solo too.
Then it would be harder to debug stuff, as you can't isolate it. We already had an issue inside gall that broke other stuff when some criteria were met. Would not find it if it were in an all in one.

@Ghost it surely is possible to have flaks with similar working. But we're currently not working on any

What is the chance of getting an all in one version of this?

Hey, Dev. I was wondering, could this kinda realism work on Flak guns? Like the legendary Flak 88. AT Gun, in-direct fire, air defence. Jack of all trades artillery. AP Rounds for the tanks, HE in variable charges for direct and in-direct fire, and adjustable HE-TF for air targets.

I could see Flak guns, 76mm and up, doing pretty cool sh*t here.

That goes without saying that some WW2 artillery, like the US and German 105s, that works with TBD logic would be awesome!
