An attempt to make a vanilla-only composition for a fictional Horizon Islands Self-Defense Force, under the composition name 'TDF' to make it indexed among already-existing ideas for a Horizon Islands-based Military.

The Horizon Islands Self-Defense Forces can trace it's roots back to the World War II, where the former French colony took arms against it's Japanese occupiers and assisted US Marines in liberating the islands. In the aftermath of the war, the colony was reintegrated into France's overseas territories, but the idea remained for an independent Tanoan garrison. Although the French government initially resisted in the formation of a Tanoan Army, the events of the First Indochina War had changed the scope of France's Geopolitical strategy. That was, from preventing Independence movements in colonies, to preventing communism from spreading to the Pacific region.

Being provided second-hand equipment in the 60s, the newly-formed Horizon Islands Garrison would find itself thrown into a Cold War politics almost immediately with skirmishes against tiny communist paramilitaries within it's borders. The skirmishes would eventually end in the early 70s, when the country fully gained independence. An agreement was formed where the communist side would cease hostiles in exchange for legitimizing the various communist paramilitaries as a party of parliament. Soon after, the communist paramilitaries united as one movement, and it wasn't long before increasing tensions between the ruling party and communist coalition would strife the country. In the span of only a single election, the young Republic was thrown into civil war. Fortunately for it, aid in the form of the United F * * king States swept in to help the country fight the communists.
The war would eventually last for nearly several years, ending by attrition. The communist paramilitaries were almost all wiped out, and those that remained went into hiding. Eventually, it would try to form again in the late 90s as a minor participating party in Horizon Islands elections, but it was too small to make a difference.

Among other conflicts the Horizon Islands has been involved in included it's own War on Drugs in the 2000s and 2010s, where valuable counter-insurgency lessons were learned.

It is often joked by South-Pacific military liaisons that the Horizon Islands is "Ready for yesterday," referring to the tendency for it's Armed Forces to buy outdated equipment that would have been cutting-edge of previous decade.

Now, in the 2030s, the Horizon Islands has continued to humor the joke, using last-generation flagship equipment from European and American suppliers. With the rise of the Syndikat, the country prepares for yet another home turf battle...

- Use of the hidden M81 combat uniform texture as the uniform base.
- Western-style Weaponry and Equipment. Reasonably recent. The 17" Barrel SPAR-16S is used as the standard rifle of the Tanoan Self-Defense Forces. The composition calls upon a spawn function which explicitly removes the bipod that is typically forcefully-spawned on the SPAR-16S. The 150rnd magazine has also been replaced with a 30 round STANAG.
- Public-server Compatible.
- Perfect Vee Formation upon Spawn. Units will not reposition when you place down the composition.
- One Squad. 8 Men. Pretty Basic, but useable for Zeus Interfaces.
- The composition is located under "Men (Tanoa)" and can be easily searched for by just typing in "TDF" in the name.
