Description
Probably the only way of actually downloading more ram...

Installation:
Replace the configuration file ProjectZomboid64.json found in your project zomboid game directory with one of the preconfigured ones from the workshop folder that suits your RAM needs. Make sure to remove the 2gb, 3gb etc from the configuration file's name you decide to go with.

Available configurations:

2gb (2048mb)
3gb (3072mb)
4gb (4096mb)
5gb (5120mb)
6gb (6144mb)
7gb (7168mb)
8gb (8192mb)
9gb (9216mb)
10gb (10240mb)
11gb (11264mb)
12gb (1288mb)

Note: if you want to just edit your own configuration file you can as I have included the decimal numbers next to their corresponding GB.

Just a note. There is an error in the 12GB file.
There is no "m" after the number. This makes the game crash instantly (at least on my system) but will launch with the alternate launch, although I don't think it does anything at that point.
I put the "m" in it's proper place and all was right with the world once again,

-Xmx tells the Java launcher what size at max, to set the Java Virtual Machine limitations.
-Xms sets the initial size of the RAM allocation for Trash Heap Collection to a certain size, which can then rise to the -Xmx limit.

I am old. Here is my Wisdom:
Some of the first Disk Operating System versions allowed for the creation of a Shadow Cache or Page File. Since the speed of the processor was equivalent to the IO speed of the Disk, you could functionally 'Download More RAM!'

for anyone thinking this won't work, it does, that .json file has a java ram limit in it, by default the game is locked to 3 gbs of ram max, I changed mine to 16 as I have 32gbs of ram and run a ridiculous amount of mods

So is it doesn't different to change to g rather 1024m rounding?
for example, 3072m = 3g, just smaller numbers without headache to count rounding.

Also, I've replaced Zulu JRE to Temurin due to an unknown reason that doesn't render Thai language properly while upload Thai translation mods for myself.

Yours does not add the m on the end. Is this going to be an issue?
