Description
This New Jersey Transit (NJT) map covers Hoboken Terminal and the eastern end of the NJT Hoboken Division. This simulation is strictly based on the September 2019 NJT timetable with very small changes made to adapt it to Rail Route.

From Hoboken Termianl, the 4 track mainline begins to split off into various lines: Bergen County, Main Line, Montclair, Morristown and Pascack Valley. Connections at Meadows and Kearny Jct take trains to and from the North East Corridor (NEC). See my NEC Newark maps. There are actually 169 trains (not 133) in this simulation due to a number of relayed trains to and from Hoboken.

Starting at 5:00 AM, the traffic is light but begins to ramp up to it's peak between 7:30 to 9:00 AM. I decided to make this simulation 7 hours long so we can experience typical mid-day traffic after the rush hour dies down.

Trains from the Montclair and Morristown Lines merge west of Newark Broad Street Station, then split again at Kearny Jct where some leave the territory toward Penn Station. Main Line trains from Allendale and Waldwick must be routed correctly at Ridgewood Jct. For the through trains, look to see what track they stop at Secaucus Junction as a hint for routing. The Pascack Line operations are relatively straight forward other than the opposite direction traffic. Lastly, look out for trains coming out of Meadows and the numerous yard moves in the Terminal and to MMC Yard.

Good luck and have fun!
