[TB&B] Provisorisches Bergungsfahrzeug 'Kalin' | Makeshift Recovery Vehicle

If your only tool is a hammer, then every problem looks like a nail...

An oddity in the otherwise uniform Axis forces, this makeshift utility tractor was made from the burnt out hull of a destroyed tank in order to fix the many gaps in their limited logistics. Most supplies, including engineering vehicles, were being funnelled into the fierce fighting in the Eastern front, leaving the occupational forces in Europe largely unequipped to deal with the logistical issues that comes with maintaining a fighting force spread so thin.

Allegedly these particular makeshift vehicles were named after a legendary logistics officer who served along the Ukrainian-Romanian border

  • Top speed: 45 Km/H Forwards, 10 Km/H Backwards

  • Crew: 3 (Driver, Crane Operator, Assistant)

  • Primary Armament: N/A

  • Secondary Armament(s): N/A

  • Other: Several winches and cranes, A vehicle mounted welder, A tow bar

  • Difficulty For Use In Multiplayer: Expert (Difficult to work around the physics engine)



Operation Instructions & Pointers:

  • The rear crane does not work on low physics, it just goes limp.

  • This is more of a gimmick vehicle than anything practical, and it will likely take a lot of wrangling the physics engine to do its job, but you can probably manage. Good luck! (you will need it)
