[WOTC] Prioritize Right Click Melee Fix

Description
About This Mod
There is an interesting issue where the right mouse click shortcut in the UI would cause units to move and melee attack with a skill that is NOT the desired or expected skill.

The most glaring culprit of this interaction is when using [WOTC] Nonlethal Combat and right-clicking an enemy with 3 or less life using a Templar.

Without this mod, the Templar will run up and activate Stunning Strike.

With this mod, the Templar will run up and use Rend.

What Does This Mod Actually Do
The algorithm that Firaxis wrote for finding a melee move and attack skill was perfect for the vanilla version of the game. It found the first ability on the unit that met the criteria and used it. Problem is, they were never expecting a unit to have more than one of those skills.

This mod updates that algorithm using a Highlander hook to now look in Shot HUD Priority (aka, from left-to-right on the ability bar in the bottom) and uses the first ability found. So now it will always be consistent with how a melee skill is chosen instead of based upon which skill was added to the unit last.

Requirements

Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with everything.

It is ONLY required if you are running mods which add multiple moving melee attack skills to a unit under your control. If you do not have any mods that do that, then you can run your game without issue and ignore this mod.

Thanks
  • The Highlander folks for working with me to get the necessary hooks in place to allow this fix to be done!

Oh fuck yes. Just had a Shrike (personal custom class) use a fist based melee attack that didn't proc his bladestorm follow-up yesterday after giving him a grapple arm from the augmentions mod. It also, thanks to having a cooldown, meant he couldn't keep on his reaper chain using single clicks and I was having to cycle through the normal enemy list to get the right ones.

This is a godsend for me!! Non-lethal combat introduced that weird priority and i didn't like it. Thank you for making this fix!!
