Description
Kenowa Bay | MASS TRANSIT REQUIRED

Welcome to the region of Kenowa, Canada. My first map and is based on if Calgary was located by the Great lakes, like a mix of Calgary and Toronto; Calgonto!

The mountains are made using a heightmap of the Livingstone Range in Alberta, Canada. The lake is based off the Glenmore Reservoir on the outskirts of Calgary and the start square takes inspiration from downtown Calgary.

MAP INFORMATION

56% Building Area, suitable for a medium sized city.
There are ore, oil and farming resources, although they are primarily used for painting/detailing.

136,606 trees used.
Forest Brush:
  • Douglas fir clusters
  • LP tree set
  • PD – Pine short, regular, tall
  • Lantana (vanilla)
  • Wild Hedge (vanilla)
Outside Connections
  • Highway - 4 connections
  • Rail - 3 connections
  • Ship - 2 connections
  • Plane - 4 connections

Required Items
  • There are a few assets and mods that I have used to create this map and are pretty much essential. So do subscribe to the collections above.
  • They include: 3 sets of trees, 1 rural road network, some grass assets, 1 Rock set and a few mods.
  • Highway Intersections have markings on them. If you don’t subscribe to Intersection marking tool mod, they won't show up.
  • I also highly recommend the 81 tiles 2 mod to fully experience the entire map.

Visuals

Theme – Custom Kenowa Bay theme mix
LUT – Relight2Natural + Relight settings provided in screenshot.
Render it – Settings in Theme mix collection.
I have also used Daylight Classic (all to classic), Fog controller, Hide it and Cubemap replacer for the above screenshots.
Cubemaps – Table mountain (Day time pics) and Kiara Dawn (Dawn time pics) from this pack:
HDRI Haven Cubemap Pack

Unfortunately, the mountains aren’t snowcapped. If you wish to have them, I recommend using theme mixer 2.5 to change the ore texture to the one from this theme: Slopes Snowfall Map Theme[steamproxy.net]
(This will also change the look of some of the farm fields)

Shoutout to Simblas too for his Calgary map, playing on their map was what inspired me to create this map.

I am getting simulation fail with this map and it states Rural road asphalt missing, which seems odd?

Some history on the fanmade Highway 425: Highway 425 was established in 1933 as the Highway 75S (75 Scenic), a RIRO expressway route between Highway 75 and Highway 75A (Later Highway 78 Trans Canada Highway) to the Gardiner Expwy (Formerly a part of the QEW) in Downtown Toronto, Widening of the highway to 8 lanes between Toronto and Guptanville began in 1955 when the 400 series highway was introduced, filling in the old grass median barrier, It later fully became renumbered as Highway 425 in 1961, following the remaining unwidened section of Highway 75S RIRO Expressway to become fully transformed to controlled acess 4 lane Highway 425 to Highway 78 and 75, Begining route twinnings in 1979 to 2017 gave Highway 425 its current length to today's Highway 542

I might make 2 fanmade cottage style cities in Midnorthern Ontario with one in the front called Gretchen Bay and the one in the back Kenowa Strait, with 4 highway connections (3 provincal) (2 secondary) (one of them is a newly built freeway built in stages between 1999 (construction begin 1995) and 2017 being Highway 425 TCH (Trans Canada Highway), which replaced the two lane Highway 75 which a 195 km section still exsists further back towards Highway 17/11 in North Bay, the other 3 provincal highways being Highway 158 and Highway 164 and ofcourse Highway 75, the 2 secondary highways being Highway 542 and Highway 793 (all aside from a 25.1 section downloaded to Bruce County Road 793 in 1996 with the exsisting section's western terminus being at the Highway 75 junction,

Did you get your save to work again? The rural roads and any other network will only crash your game if you unsubscribe from the asset before getting rid of all the network segments in the map. So perhaps you aren't subscribed to a network asset or some other mod issue that is preventing the map from loading.

I just did a quick test load and both my save game and new game load completely fine.

I think it might be the Asphalt rural roads, on another item page it was saying the item is a save killer, going to try a fresh reload RON the roads to default rural road and see if it works, will relay if it does.

This has been crashing for me lately, it worked before but now wont load my save, nor will it start anew.

This is a certified hood classic. Perfect for a smaller detailed build.
