Description
Adds Ib as a playable character for Don't Starve Together.



Character Description
(based from the actual game and its wiki)
Ib is a nine-year-old girl with brown hair and red eyes. Her hair is a dull chestnut brown, parted into fringed bangs across her forehead, with the rest worn long and down her back. She wears a white long-sleeved blouse adorned with a red ribbon, similar to the blue scarf that Mary wears, and a knee-length pleated red skirt that matches her neckerchief. She also wears black knee-high socks and red shoes with white soles and adorned with a small red bow on the top of each shoe. Her attire is very similar to a school uniform.

She is reticent, reserved, and vacantly unreadable. She appears to have an unusual mental immunity to most surreal events that would normally result in trauma, though she may simply be too young and naïve to identify when things are out of the ordinary.

She is truly very kind, compassionate, and emotional on the inside.

Due to her age, Ib is rather naïve. She can't read certain words in the gallery and doesn't completely understand what is going on, although she is aware of the concept of danger.

Starting items
Red Rose
  • Acts as her life in the original game. In Don't Starve Together, having this in her inventory makes Ib take normal damage from all sources. Otherwise, she takes 40 damage more.
  • If this flower is not in her inventory, her sanity drains quickly.
  • Craftable. Uses 40 health, 20 Sanity, and 5 petals.
  • Can be stolen by creatures that steals stuff (powder monkey, krampus, splumonkey, lureplant, etc).

Lace Handkerchief
  • A gift from her mother on her 9th birthday.
  • When used on self or other players, restores 30 health and 15 sanity. *Haven't tested in a multiplayer setting, so can't say if mouse-hovering the item to another player would show "give" instead of "use".
  • Has 4 uses then turns to its dirty variant.
  • Once dirty, can be washed from any clean water source (frog ponds, cave ponds, etc).
  • Can be stolen by powder monkeys and splumonkeys, but not by lureplants or krampus.

Blue Bunny Doll
  • Supposed to be based on the gift she received from her father for her 9th birthday. That one though is a pink rabbit doll. For this, I just went with blue to somehow match its transformation.
  • Works similar to Willow's Bernie: Provides 60 freezing insulation and 2 Sanity per minute when equipped.
  • When Ib is below 15% sanity, the bunny doll turns into a giant blue doll. Dealing 75 damage per attack (25 more damage than Bernie) and has splash damage.
  • Note though that the blue doll's splash damage can hurt friends and even Ib herself.
  • On giant form, the blue doll, has 3000 HP (1000 hp more than BERNIE!).
  • On active or inactive state, can be stolen by powder monkeys and splumonkeys, but not by lureplants or krampus.

Summary of her in-game perks and passives
  • Drains hunger 25% slower than normal.
  • Favorite Food: Melonsicle (+15 hunger).
  • Has a small sanity regen aura (similar to glommer and sisturn). *Haven't tested this in a multiplayer setting yet though so can't say if it actually works.
  • Gains sanity regen when near rabbits and/or bunnymen. (0.052084 rabbits // 0.104167 bunnymen // stackable)
  • Does not understand items in the world (this reflects on her examining stuff, as well as some items' names being generic).
  • Unable to lift heavy objects. Same as old Wanda.
  • Deals 25% less damage. Similar to Wendy/Wes.
  • Does not heal with healing foods. Similar to Wormwood.
  • Increased durability with tools, but takes time to actually complete the chore. Similar to Wes.
  • Food with negative effect: bunnystew (-50 sanity).
  • Loses sanity on killing rabbits/bunymen (-10 sanity).
  • Takes more time to recover from grogginess. Similar to Wes.
  • Takes 40 more damage if rose is not in inventory.
  • Sanity drains quickly if no rose in inventory.
  • Spawns no skeleton on death. The Darkness takes her whole.
  • Does not drain sanity on sanity draining items. Similar to Maxwell when holding dark sword, dark armor, etc.



Known issue(s) / Notes
  • Some text lines when examining will play the default Wilson lines. This is because speech lines are about 3000 lines, and I'm still around the 800th line.
  • Some arts are just edited versions of vanilla characters. (i.e, Ib using Wendy's eyes, Blue bunny doll, having Bernie's face but with longer ears instead).
  • Some or probably most of the skills are just a mix of other characters' perks and skills making her easy to use/get used to when playing as her.



PS. was actually hoping to see this Garry mod completed including all his supposed other characters (Mary and Ib). Since we haven't heard yet from them, I had to make my own take for Ib just so I can play as her.
Also, last I checked, Although his Garry is already playable, I think he isn't done with this character yet (i.e the flower doesn't do anything yet)

As for the small blue doll versions, i'm thinking it would be better off towards Mary, than Ib. that said, I'm still waiting for JustAGh0styy to finish his works as the idea of somewhat "porting" the characters in Ib was his, and I only publicize my Ib work. we'll see how it goes.

@magenta lizard, i actually based the large doll from the large doll painting (the one where gary was trapped). as for the normal form, it was supposed to be a regular bunny doll like how ib could see in the rabbit room, Problem is, i don't know anything about making custom sprite animations, so i just used the small bernie as a base. supposed to be pink as mentioned in the description above, but i went with blue to match its transformation.

If by chance someone could either guide or make a custom sprite animation for the rabbit model, i can use that, and turn it into pink to somewhat match its lore.

Updating my comment: a 98% speed penalty since you basically become a snail at that point who HAS to rely on external sources. Maybe a unique animation if you want but that would probably be pain.

@aikawayumi maybe make her carry heavy objects like... 90-95% slower so that she had to rely on a beefalo or something? Just an idea since having some sort of workaround would be extremely convenient for things like Shadow Pieces if you wanted to do them as Ib, and ofc make a Ib only playthrough possible.

@Alucard. That was the original plan. After a few tests though, I kinda thought it would be too OP if Ib has a lot of sanity/hp recovery item that doesn't have cooldowns or is seemingly unlimited. Her handkerchief should work like Wanda's healing clock. in that Wanda's case though, what makes it seems balanced is that it has an incredibly long cooldown and only heals hp, plus, you need access to ruins to actually make more. But if it's just for the fun of it, maybe i'l throw in a craftable handkerchief as well as someone else's idea of making her be able to lift heavy objects as a configuration in the future.
